I think Liam is worth more because he proved himself by fighting with Kira against Kate's monsters (sorry I forgot how they were called). from useless and new beta he became trustworthy and strong beta. That's my little theory :)

They’re called the berserkers! :) You know you could be right about that, I had actually kind of forgotten that scene existed haha. Its possible the amount each person is worth corresponds with how hard they are to kill. Liam is just a newly turned beta so Meredith (or/and if someone else is involved) didn’t really see him as much of a threat. Now he’s proven himself as stronger than he appeared AND loyal to his pack - therefore more of a threat and more incentive to be killed. :)
