I think it’s more the way he goes about it. Like he specifically targets specific innocuous people and sics his fans on them in a sort of strange mobbing way.

Maybe it’s because I’m not in the industry/famous so I don’t think of him responding like that as siccing his fans on him but I can understand why that would upset people. I just always see people calling him out as an ass and all this shit afterwards and I’m like?? He overreacted a tiny bit but lord knows he’s sensitive af smdh

HI! I know you might be ducking down from drama or keeping it cute, but as a comics nobody, it would be interesting to hear why exactly that post is so flawed, beyond the obvious in terms of comic canon, if you'd like?

I mean, I don’t know that I’m keeping it cute so much as that post is so stupid just from a critical thinking perspective (SHE CHECKS HER WATCH AND WORE A BLUE COAT ONCE!!!) that bringing in comics canon is just not even necessary?

It’s not even ABOUT comics canon because in terms of comics canon Candice’s Iris is an extremely faithful adaptation. It’s just them cherrypicking a bunch of innocuous shit and going THIS IS KINDA LIKE SMTH THAT CAITLIN DID ONCE. Like you could make a post like that about any given character on the show if you wanted to and it would hold just as much water (aka none).

For the review (and I confess I’m not very good at writing reviews; I’m much more an analysis person) I think we should outline what questions were brought up from the last episode and whether they are answered in tomorrow’s episode, give general impressions of the episode, and then bring up things that we’re anticipating for the next episode. 

Possible Topics:

Iris West: Autonomy, Agency, & Objectification

Why does  Eddie learn about the lie before Iris? What is the fallout from Eddie learning about it before her, and then lying to her about it? What do we see Iris doing about Mason’s murder/disappearance? Does it remain a part of her storyline, or is it subsumed by Barry’s? 

Joe West: Character Analysis

Why is lying to Iris the way he chooses to protect her? (Contextualize this by looking at his actions in episodes 15 and 2, and looking at other instances in which he’s lied to people.)

Harrison Wells: Villain & Father Figure

For the first quarter of the season Wells was seen as a father figure to Barry, a sort of counterpart to Joe. He was a mentor and someone Barry looked up to. The events of the past episode have shifted that dynamic, and since episode 16 his role as a (unquestioned) mentor and father figure has shifted to his relationship with Cisco. How will this complicate Barry’s relationship with Cisco? Why is he more a father figure to Cisco than Caitlin, whose relationship with him is mostly about how his decisions affected Ronnie?

Some general questions:

The review is a collaborative effort; are topical posts supposed to be collaborative as well? Should everyone who is a part of the project get to see what is written before it’s posted? How soon after the show airs do we have to have something written up?
