“ No, TELL ME! “
Embers in this throat, ash on his tongue; To be judged by this Aspect of Justice, a half-human raised with no context of his existence, with no knowledge of him beyond myth and story, would push him. So far it would push him that he would never recover, and he felt it; this was the final, ultimate decider of his fate, of this world’s fate.. if she claimed his suffering as injustice, he might still come back, and if she didn’t nothing would turn him from his path..
part of him hoped for the former, but most of him hoped for the latter.
“ Do it! Let me hear your own judgement, in your own words! Tell me, Kayle, and decide the fate of this world with your tongue!” @iustitic

What does one do when presented with their god but fall to their knees in reverence? This is exactly what Quinn does, unable to make eye contact or speak when she is greeted with the Protector's glory. For so long, she has not felt she has dealt justice well. For so long she's doubted herself. This, she thinks, is the moment she will die.
Kayle watched, expressionless, how a young woman fell to her knees, ready to be judged.
The seraphim remained seemingly untouched by such actions, but while Quinn submitted herself, Kayle gazed upon her exposed soul and read the rights and wrongs the young scout has made.
“Rise, Champion of Justice,” Kayle finally demanded. She landed right in front of Quinn and her hand gently lifted the scout’s chin so that she could look into her eyes. Everyone made mistakes, but Quinn’s were so minimal. Besides, she was so determined to dedicate her life to Justice and Kayle could appreciate that. “You are pure and worthy.”
Champion of Justice.
Quinn neither struggles nor fights, but tears leak from her eyes. All she’s done in her life -- the defection, the lying, the friendships with the enemy and the breaking down when things get bad. She has tried her best, is it true.
She searches the Protector’s helm, her glowing eyes and shining skin, and feels a sense of serenity wash over her as the seraphim tells her she is pure and worthy.
“Even with all I’ve done... all my failures...” she begins in protest. “You still see purity in me? You still see me as worthy?” The tears fall in earnest, now. “Perhaps Demacia has done you great wrongs, O Holy Light, Great Protector of us all... Perhaps there is more to your holy sight than our scriptures.”

"Happy birthday, princeling. May this day bring you joy."
the voice came grand, yet bearing a message seemingly unfitting of a divine being. after all, why would their most holy matron of their nation bother to take notice of something so below her as a simple birthday. in fact, the infantile naming of him seemed to note this as well, and yet her she was and so she said. the king would make a silent prayer at such fortune had the one to thank not been right before him. perhaps good days were to come, finally ending this darkest of nights. ‘ thank you, lady protector. your blessings are more joy then any one could ask for. ’
It was a disaster, a horrific disaster! And worst of all, if only she came just two minutes earlier, the dragon wouldn’t have laid waste to the town in the first place. But the end of it was visible now, the light in the tunnel was close. After the threat banished and a day spent with tireless evacuation and healing, dozens of revivals and not a single moment of rest, there only seemed to be a select few who remained trapped or injured, and those already saved had began to salvage what little they could of the situation. The people worked together, all able bodied men and women, even the children did what they could. They made a chain to bring water from the river and put the fires out, they dug each other out from the rubles, and now, some began to cook whatever edible they could still find, and shared it. The atmosphere was one of devastation, but it was also busy and hopeful.
She walked to one of the cultivated pillars of flame, feeling that here would be the last of the wounded. People gathered around it, eating and warming against the coming night’s cold that already crept close. And it was here that she glimpsed yet again the other pillar of their faith in a better tomorrow, an angelic aspect among the injured. Marla had been wondering who she was, and now she could finally find out. She eyed Kayle as she approached, a silent smile showing her appreciation, then knelt and placed her hands on a man’s burns, slowly healing them with a soothing glow of blue. With all she had done today, even Marla began to tire.

“ i’m on your side. ”
Unprompted asks | (always accepting.)
Oh was she? Only now? How quaint.
“Did it take hundreds of innocents to die for you to pick a side?”
She asked rhetorically. As much as her words had no real bite to it, at least not intentionally, the anguish was still very much present.
“As much as I wished for it before, your ‘justice’ is not needed. There has been enough bloodshed.”
