INFINITY WAR, ALTERNATIVE PLOT. part 2
***SPOILERS***
As said, I DON’T remember all the scenes from the film so you’ll have to fill it in with them. Not all them would change anyway.
Camera to: Guardians of the Galaxy aboard their ship. All the same as film but with HEIMDALL landing windscreen instead of THOR.
“Who is he?” etc etc etc. Heimdall is keeled over and bleeding. They see to his wounds while talking. He explains what’s happening.
“And this Thor and Kokee”
“LOKI!”
“Yeah that’s what I said, where are they now?”
HEIMDALL, handed a cup to drink. Drinks and looks like he’s just tasted the worst liquid in the universe. Looks into middle distance.
“Is he ok?”
HEIMDALL: camera to LOKI AND THOR walking, arguing about something but we cant really hear: “Midgard! SO they got there! They’re on Midgard.”
[here’s where I can’t remember the order of stuff and no way am I going to go see it again to find out! SO you’]ll have to leave it mostly As Was.]
THOR AND LOKI are in Wakanda. They don’t know the place. They are creeping about, hiding, chatting about things. Ragnarok.(”can I just remind you brother, that was YOUR idea”. Hela (”we could use her now”). Surkar (”I should have stayed at the disco”)
Suddenly they are surrounded by female warriors. Spears, fight ensues spinning around. THOR AND LOKI are captured, held face down. Their heads are facing each other on the ground. Thor looks shocked, can’t believe women have done this to him.
LOKI: grinning. “Ohh I like them.”
[you can flash forward and back between THOR and LOKI in Wakanda and the other scenes]
BACK TO WAKANDA:
THOR AND LOKI are in front of the throne. MId conversation about what has happened, trying to get urgency across. They are both bound. THOR is in earnest, says that half his people have been killed. LOKI just looks bloody annoyed that a god has been treated this way and who the hell is that man on that throne, which is gold and has horns and is starting to look similar to one he sat on not so long ago. Camera goes to the horns on the throne and back to LOKI’s face, which is inspecting it. All this time THOR and BLACK PANTHER are talking.
Cue GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY SHIP landing in Wakanda. Usual nonsense. Silliness Humour.
Next scene: Wakandans
RAMONDA: “When you said about opening Wakanda up to the rest of the world this is not what I thought you had in mind.”
T’CHALLA: “What did you think then?
Ramonda: “Olympics? Starbucks?”
THOR AND LOKI walk behind, free from chains.
Interrupted by: guards (yay more spears!) bringing GUARDIANS.
T’CHALLA: “WHO ARE THESE?
RAMONDA: -whisper- “If these are more Asgardians....”
Guards explain that they found the Guardians.
RAMONDA: speaks to the guards and continues walking with the others towards his ship.....
RAMONDA TO LOKI: “Who is that small one, the furry one?”
LOKI: a red panda, I think.

[where do they all go? Cue- other scenes from the film. Even if I remembered them all I would get the order wrong! It isn't important here. So, back to Thor and Loki, the ones I'm writing this for.]

LATER ..... whilst Vision is having the stone removed from his head [attempt- as in the film, it doesn’t work].... Thor is in the lab.
Below, some distance away, the mass ranked fighters and warriors of Wakanda are ready for fighting to begin. They start chanting. THOR looks out of the windows and watches. Stunned, panicked, he turns back to Vision and the others.
A SHIP LANDS in some fields behind the fighting, you can see fighting crowds in the distance. The ship is VALKYRIE’S. There are a dozen or so others, armed, walking out of it with her, as some Asgardians had managed to find weapons on the big ship before they abandoned it. Korg is there too. Camera leaves them, but we know they’ ve arrived ready to help!
The fight has begun in the fields below. This time, LOKI is there -from the beginning. THOR is above in the lab, watching, and talking about everything. He is itching to go and join in. They are telling him that if he didn’t need his hammer before, he doesn’t now, either.
[No new hammer, as he is not the god of hammers. I know stormbreaker is in the comics and so they want to introduce it but they can do that in Infinity War 2 ffs!!!]
THOR appears in the fight. He is trying to fight without his hammer but isn’t getting very much power. He is still getting used to this, still learning. It doesn’t take him long to get effective again, but meanwhile:
[The fight is going as in the film BUT] now and then- CAMERA TO LOKI using daggers, speed, and the powerful flashes of blue light that he used in combat in Thor One. At one point someone bumps into his back. He spins round with his dagger lifted and it drives into Cap’s shield.
CAP: Shocked, then angry: “YOU!” goes to give Loki a deathly blow.
LOKI: backing away a few steps, hands up -though still with daggers- “I’M ON YOUR SIDE NOW!!!!!”
CAP: slight smirk, turns, just getting an enemy about to slash him.
Camera on: Asgardians fighting, some killed. Valkyrie spinning, kicking, slashing. Then:
THOR catches up to LOKI. LOKI TO THOR: “use a thunderbolt! Clear them!”
THOR: WHAT DO YOU THINK I’VE BEEN TRYING TO DO?
Valkyrie runs past. (I want to have her say ‘this isn’t over’ but that’s just way to corny so-)
VALKRIE: “COME. ON. BOYS!”
The enemy is gaining, and are winning.
LOKI, to himself, but THOR overhears,”Oh.. right..... well.....” looks up at THOR, worried,
THOR: “Lo-kiiii? what have..?”
LOKI brings the Tesseract into view.
THOR: angry, despairing, “Brother, you will never learn.”
The enemy is almost upon them. There are screams all round. LOKI spins round and round holding the TESSERACT up in his hands. Camera view from above: THE TESSERACT dissolves in shards and the space stone appears. Still spinning, light shines from LOKI stronger than ever before and a huge force field pushes back the enemy with an enormous blue flash.
LOKI: “THAT’S how you do a thunderbolt.”
Encouraged, and taking advantage of the ensuing confusion, THOR runs to the middle distance and smashes a thunderbolt into the ground, angry, and yells up to the sky, “BRING. ME. THANOS!”
Thanos appears, puts out his hand and scoops up the space stone from the air..... [then follows much as film...]

[SO let’s assume it all happens much the same as the film from here on, then to the final scenes ]
-fighting as in film then:
CAMERA to THOR- he has stabbed THANOS, THANOS has clicked his fingers.
THOR: “What... what have you done? What have... you done?”
Loki, who is among the trees where he has been fighting, looks up and around and runs to Thor's side.
THOR AND LOKI are scanning the skies. It’s gone strange. Silent. Odd colour. LOKI looks to THOR, quizzically, THOR shakes his head, mimes, “no, it’s not me”, in much the same way as LOKI did in Ragnarok when THOR told him to undo his spell over Odin.
Then the deaths.... as in the film.....
Then, camera on THOR AND LOKI:
they are slowly walking towards the others. They witness some of the deaths, amazed, in the silence. Thor looks all round, goes to say something but then sees-
LOKI, looks wide eyed, rubs his hands together, looks up at THOR.
THOR: “Lokkkkiiii... LOKI! LOKI! NO!”
LOKI is expressionless. He looks up at the sky and whispers, “No...” then looks down at his fingers. He spreads them in front of him and begins to fall to his knees.
Thor catches Loki in both arms. They sink to the ground together.
THOR: “no, NO!”
But LOKI is calm. He has just flopped into Thor, no struggle. THOR goes to take Loki’s hand but it falls away from under his, into nothing.
THOR is crying. “I will not lose you again. Again! No. BROTHER!”
LOKI falls back against THOR’S shoulder: ”THOR...” this is the only time we have ever heard him use this name for his brother] his hands have gone, and it’s spreading up his arms. Camera draws back, his legs are going, it has already reach one of his knees.
As LOKI’s body crumbles into ash and dust, he looks into Thor’s face, and without even the flicker of an eyebrow, gasps simply, “Remember.” and his head falls into nothing.
CAMERA then to Dr Strange and Ironman, as in film.
CAMERA then to Thanos as in film.
-END-
SO Loki has died, but it’s after ‘the click’ - this gives them a way to bring him back if time is reversed in the sequel.
But even if he remains dead, his arc is complete- he has fought on Asgard’s side in Ragnarok, and he has now fought for Midgard- the planet his old self had tried to conquer and take for himself! He has fought alongside Thor and alongside the Avengers. Not only have Thor and Heimdall and Hulk/Banner seen him fight for what is right, but now Midgardians too will know.
I would like to see Loki return in AV4. What if the ones killed after the click come back to life? What if Thor sees them all come back but not his brother? Can you imagine what that does to him?Maybe he has a private memorial for Loki at a quiet bit at the end of the film. Maybe Loki will appear, as an illusion, to talk to him. Or Thor sees a vision of him. Thor will recite the same prayer he did for Odin, ending in ‘nor shall we mourn for those who have died the noble and glorious death’. Loki deserves a warrior’s send off if he dies. -Even just in words, if his body isn’t there to adorn and honour and send off like they did with Frigga.
***[having the Guardians arrive in Wakanda - I don’t know how to use them there, I got them there because that ‘s where Heimdall told them Thor and Loki were, and that they both would need all the help they could get. It can also be a place where Gamora meets up with THANOS again so- after this fight he takes Gamora. Maybe then the Guardians leave to follow and try to get her back, not succeeding. Maybe they can get to the Collector too around that point. Like I said, I don’t remember all the scenes or their order.]****
