For @meowable-chan and her accursed rare pair night
“Azumane, you are my friend and I love and respect you, but what the actual fuck?” Asahi simply blinked at Daichi in confusion.
“What did I do now?” he asked. Suga stepped into the clubroom then and immediately started giggling.
“That’s a good look for you!” he crowed. Asahi smiled.
“Thank you,” he said, and turned to pull on his practice shirt, careful not to disturb the little silk flowers pinned into his hair.
Of course, it couldn’t last forever. By the time morning practice was over, only half were still in place. The rest fell out over the course of the day and afternoon practice, leaving Asahi with a handful of pins and a wistful sigh. He tucked them into his pocket and trudged along home.
“Oh, Asahi,” his mother greeted when he stepped through the front door. “Your friend arrived about half an hour ago. I sent him up to your room.” He blinked in surprise.
“What friend?” he asked. She waved her hand at him.
“Your friend,” she reiterated. Asahi flushed and sputtered, backing out of the kitchen as quickly as he could. He took the stairs two at a time and thew open the door to his bedroom.
Iwaizumi was curled in the very corner of his bed, sitting up but sound asleep. He was wearing one of Asahi’s sweaters, his hands hidden by the sleeves and his cheek pressed into the fabric. It was absolutely adorable.
Asahi closed the door quietly behind him and slipped out of his jacket and slacks. He crawled into bed, careful not to wake the sleeping boy. Surrounded by warmth and the sound of steady breaths, he fell asleep quickly.
Hajime didn’t pause in his motions when Asahi stirred. There wasn’t much that could wake him up, not even Hajime moving him so that he lay in his lap. Soft strands of chestnut hair slipped through Hajime’s fingers again and again, the feeling hypnotic and the motion comforting.
“Haj’me?” Asahi mumbled. “What’re you doing here?” Hajime smiled.
“My study session was canceled because Hanamaki has the flu,” he explained. “I figured I’d surprise you.” Asahi hummed and pressed his head up into Hajime’s touch.
“All the flowers fell out,” he whispered. Hajime chuckled.
“I didn’t expect them to stay in,” he said. Asahi huffed through his nose, a displeased little sound that made Hajime’s chest feel warm. “If you like, I could do it again.”
He could almost feel Asahi’s happiness as he smiled and sighed, stretching contentedly.
“Later,” Asahi said. “’M too comfortable to move right now.” Hajime smiled.
“That’s fine,” he said. “We have all the time in the world.”
