Costa: Mount Pleasant.
I think it's mount pleasant anyway... well its near the Harold Cohen Library. This Costa is always very busy because of it's location, and how many students pop there between classes. But considering how busy it gets, the service is very good. I personally have never had to wait more than ten minutes for a latte or a coffee or anything. Considering most of my posts have been about reviewing Starbucks, Costa is my favourite for lattes. And you may start seeing that I never really give negative comments to Costa. Because I never really find many faults in their service, or their lattes really.
You may also see that most of my posts show that I but lattes... I confess... I'm an addict. Anyway, this Costa is a great location, and its a great one to stop off at on your break if you're on that side of the campus. Generally they do really nice lattes, especially cinnamon (Which a lot of Starbucks don't do...) x.
Secret Starbucks: Liverpool One.
Secret Starbucks (I don't even know if that's the name but it sounds cool..) is just at the end of Liverpool One, near John Lewis under the big steps opposite the Hilton. If you get me.. Now that Starbucks is a lovely place. After The other L1 Starbucks I went to (I complained the them btw for the wait, and they gave me free vouchers.. weeew!) I decided to give this one a go on my way home from uni. I popped in, and didn't realise how big the place was! Seriously it is a hidden gem. I expected to find a really small starbucks, but the place is so spacious for where it is. Deceptively big, and it has a really cool vibe about it. Anyway, I ordered a Vanilla Spice Latte, for the first time.. and not the last because it was GORGEOUS. It was like a vanilla latte but more magical. And the service was great. The staff were very friendly, and my latte was made quickly but really well at the same time. I would definitely recommend this Starbucks, you could easily spend a whole afternoon just sat in there. x
Oomoo: Smithdown Road.
This place is amazing. It's a quaint little coffee shop in the middle of smithdown road, so there's lot of students and people like that drinking and eating and what-not. I could literally spend every day in this place. I definitely recommend the fruit tea, any of them.. especially fruit punch! And the cakes they serve are gorgeous. I have spent many an afternoon eating a marble chocolate brownie... The staff in Oomoo are lovely. Every single time I've been in there I've had a convo with one of the servers, or simply just felt really welcomed by the staff. This is one of my favourite places to go with a friend, or pop in and grab a drink, I would recommend it to anyone. Plus.. the couches are well comfy.. x
Starbucks: Liverpool One.
(You know, the one opposite the Odeon etc..) So I'd been doing some sales shopping, and thought "why don't I grab a coffee before I go home?" That was a mistake, it was not quick. Now I understand that it's christmas sales time and all that, and that coffee shop is particularly popular cause of it's location.... but the place is definitely big enough to have more than two servers on. I joined the queue, which was close to the door.. but as I love lattes so much I thought I'd brave it. Over 20 minutes later I was waiting for my coffee!
I ordered my favourite (skinny cinnamon latte) to which I was told they don't do cinnamon. What kind of a coffee shop doesn't do cinnamon! Surely that's one of the popular ones.. my opinion anyway!
So I went for caramel and was waiting for my coffee, I was behind two other girls. Bless, one girl got her drink and asked for a warmer to put round her drink (god forbid) and the woman seving threw it at her without so much as a smile. Poor girl, thank god I got one on mine... I was too scared to ask. My latte was lovely, of course. The only problem was how long I had to wait for it really. I know they're busy and popular obviously, but there's definitely room behind that counter for an extra server, or someone to help out make the drinks. I have worked in the food/drink industry for like 5 years now, so I understand how hectic jobs like that can be, when you have so many customers at once. But I also know how easy and vital it is to plaster a smile on your face, and no matter how busy or stressed you are, you smile at the customers and be polite. Cause in the end it's people like me and you who provide the most honest reviews of a place. x
Starbucks: Bold Street, Liverpool.
Now, I do like the coffee in Starbucks... Especially the way they write your name on the cup to take away so you feel really special... (that might be my favourite part of the place.) But I feel that the staff in Starbucks are not as welcoming at those in some other places... Although they are the best looking, I wonder if there's a criteria for them being fit.. Maybe it's their wages or something.. but something makes me think they're not as welcoming. Coffee is coffee don't get me wrong, so I would definitely recommend their lattes, as a big latte drinker myself, and for a bit of eye candy definitely. Bold street always makes me think it's kind of quirky sometimes anyway, so this place fits in with that. But for communication with the staff, maybe not so much.
