Life is odd. Unpredictable. People flow in and out of your life. They come with partners while asking to be your partner. They give you smiles on the subway when your eyes meet with theirs. Sometimes they give you a grimace before their eyes dart away. People stand in front of you with bleeding hearts and your healing nature reaches out and gets to work. But, here comes the turning point. You don’t let life happen to you. Or let life be crazily unpredictable. You close the door on the partnered person. You hold the gaze of the smiling subway rider. You smile at the grimacing face. And you snatch your hands back from the bleeding heart to massage your own. Life can be more than odd. It can be good. Magical.
