So, yesterday I saw my ex's grandmother. It's been about six weeks since I broke up with him and this is the first I've seen anyone in his family since the break up.
...She hugged me. And got very excited about my job.
I'm calm about it now (after freaking out about it for most of the day yesterday), but I'm very confused.
I was expecting anger. He didn't take it well, and I totally expected that to spread to his family too. (There are reasons for the break up, wasn't just out of the blue. I told him my reasons throughout the 2&1/2 year relationship and he laughed off all of my concerns. He's now going around on Facebook trying to make it sound like it was completely random and I gave him no warning.)
Also, I thought that breakup normally don't end with the rest of the other person's family still being happy to see you. I assumed it turned into cold civility at best. (First boyfriend, first break up. All I know about break ups is from movies and books and TV. Which isn't much.)
So, I guess, is this normal? That his family doesn't hate me?
