A8 - What was your first fandom? Are you still in that fandom now?My first fandom was Harry Potter! 

I mean, I was a fan of things prior to that, but my parents were never into ‘fandom’ things themselves so I didn’t have another framework.

But Harry Potter was my first foray into fan theories, forums, roleplaying, fanfiction... all of it started with Potter. I was far too young to be so involved in such things (I was 6 when the books began to be published in the US, and being homeschooled at the time they were immediately in my life in a large way. Between online homeschool groups and JKR’s site my mother and I would talk about it endlessly and explore virtual things about it together) but I can’t say that I regret even a second of it.

And yes! I am still in that fandom. Very much so. Actually, I have a slowly-budding youtube channel where I’m planning to talk in-depth about lots of things but am starting with things about the Fantastic Beasts franchise. I am also a regular speaker at LeakyCon, since 2014 I’ve hosted at least 1 hour of content every year I’ve been able to attend, and I’ve posted my last few years’ notes that I use to run my panels on a sideblog. 

I also had a bunch of friends show me that MY FACE IS BEING USED TO ADVERTISE PROGRAMMING APPLICATIONS ON THE OFFICIAL SITE THIS YEAR

As you can see here, I am at all times a low-key and casual fan. *cough*

My life is wild. This was probably a much longer answer than you were looking for.

♧ Norrell/Childermass?

For someone so generally ungainly, Norrell has delicate fingers. It’s probably all that close work for magic, but somehow it always surprises Childermass.

It’s surprising him now as Norrell’s fingers play in his hair, smoothing it out and twirling strands through his fingers, without pulling or snagging in a tangle. Childermass is lying beside him in bed, head on his shoulder.

“You go completely boneless when I play with your hair,” Norrell murmurs, sounding almost amused.

“Do not,” says Childermass, but it comes out stretched and slow, no real effort behind it. “Just do it to humour you. Don’t know what it is about my hair…”

“You’re going to sleep,” says Norrell with satisfaction. “See there? Boneless.”

Childermass wants to make some sort of rebuttal, but the truth is that he’s asleep before he can.

This reminds me of the time I had been working at my store for like a year and had to reveal I had no idea where the trash went. My manager found me wandering around out back with a bag of trash. That was NOT where the trash went.

It’s good to know that I’m not alone in this!! You just feel like you ought to know these things, so you never ask!
