Okay but: Chuck gets splattered with exploding Cas in s4. It's Bobby's turn in s5. God/father figures getting splattered with Cas probably doesn't actually mean anything but I feel compelled to point it out anyway. :P

I guess there was a hell of a lot of Bobby as their father symbolism in there - what I’m taking from this is that Cas should have paid attention to where he’d just been splattered when he went on his quest to find God at the start of the season, and then since I am now cheerfully re-dedicating my blog to Bobby and Cas’s awesome off-screen friendship, he should have paid attention to where he was splattered this time and gone to Bobby for advice before going off with Crowley.

That’s it, I was only half joking in the rewatch but now I’m genuinely emotionally compromised by Cas n Bobby in The Man Who Would Be King. :P Has anyone ever spared a thought for how he feels about his son-in-law’s betrayal??

I feel like the fearsome strategist would almost be up to the task of a wedding seating plan.

And now as I type that, I’m remembering this isn’t even the first time I’ve connected Cas to being a wedding planner. :/ I was joking in my 9x18 rewatch about the creepy mood board Cas made to track Metatron’s angels and how re-arranging it to look like a wedding plan would really reduce the creep factor if the motel maid saw it or something, and things spiralled from there.

Hi! So I was watching "What is and what never should be" the other day (don't even get me started on all my meta feelings about that episode) and I couldn't help but notice that Dean's wearing a silver medallion in the djinn dream instead of the Samulet. Do you (or anyone else) know what this is? I think it might be a pendent of St Michael, but I'm not sure...

I think that was the theory I heard! I know iwatchthepie got really into trying to work it out at one point and tracked down some screen shots and there’s no clear shot, but that was the theory on what it was from somewhere… Hm.
