Knox’s Prayer - I Was Most Alive With You [ Part 1 / 2 ]
Monday Check-In: September 10, 2018
Obsessing Over:
Seltzer water. Making the perfect winged eye. The fact that fall is right around the corner!!
Working On:
Still Fashion Week. This week I also start Photoville, which is going to be a blast.
Thinking About:
How much my life has changed within the past year. So many really wonderful things have happened, and I’m feeling more like myself than I have in years. I am slowly but surely achieving my goals surrounded by wonderful people.
Anticipating:
Nervously anticipating next Friday, when I sub a show that is still in previews and constantly changing after shadowing it a week beforehand. I really hope nothing major in my track changes between then.
Listening To:
Les Miserables.
Reading:
Sandman vol 1 by Neil Gaiman. Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. The Stand by Stephen King. [These are all the same from last week. Damn Miriam, finish a book already.]
Drinking:
Coffee.
Wishing:
That the scenic shop at a theatre in MD had better wifi so I could video chat my boyfriend. 🙃
Do you know anything about Russell Harvard's theatre career? I know he's been in a couple shows and I'm curious about them- as well as how much he sees himself as a stage actor vs. a film actor. I know you're a fan, so do you happen to have any info on that side of his career?
Boy, do I! I know that he was inspired to start acting after seeing a relative of his in a stage production of The Wizard of Oz. He talked about that in an interview he did for NPR back when season one of Fargo came out. You can read/listen to that on the NPR website. He did theatre while he went to school at TSD and Gallaudet and has basically been in a ton of stuff, though I don’t know how much of it is available online. Recently he starred in a play called Tribes, which was recorded on CD/mp3, so you can actually listen to the show I guess? Not really sure what it’s like. I might try purchasing it though, just in case anyone else is interested. Probably it’d be neat to read along with a script. He’s also recently been in Deaf West’s production of Spring Awakening, which you can find a ton of stuff about on tumblr, and a show called I Was Most Alive With You, which was really dang neat because the role was written for him. There are clips on YouTube where Russell discusses his involvement in the show and some other featurettes that are quite a lot of fun. Some of them are posted on my blog and if you go through the russell-harvard tag you should find them. There’s a trailer for the play which he performs in ASL and it’s so good! He was also recently in a show called Tommy.
I’ve never had the chance to see him perform live, personally. But I’m hoping to in the future!
Anyway, there’s plenty of interviews you can find online. He talks about the differences between his film work and stage work.
If there’s anything you want to know more about, feel free to message me or send me an ask. I’m always hype to talk about Russell Harvard!

Monday Check-In: September 17, 2018
Obsessing Over: I’m sick and I’ve been daydreaming about my bed since the moment I got to work. Does that count?
Working On: Photoville! We’re halfway through our 2 week stint and I’m having a blast. The location is gorgeous, the talks are engaging, and the art is totally free. Love it.
Thinking About: Getting my day job workload under control. That’s what happens when you’re out of office for the better part of a week.
Anticipating: My last sub gig at I Was Most Alive with You. Tomorrow!
Listening To: Nothing today. I’m already having a hard time getting the energy to focus on work, the last thing I need is more distraction.
Reading:
Sandman vol 1 by Neil Gaiman. The Stand by Stephen King. [Let me tell you, it is not fun getting sick while reading this book.] White Oleander by Janet Fitch. The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Drinking: Earl gray tea with honey. And lots of water.
Wishing: That I was feeling better -- I had to cancel plans tonight and I’m honestly pretty nervous about doing the show tomorrow with low energy, but I will persevere.
just bought tickets for i was most alive with you and have no one else to tell! i am so excited!
Super cool, anon! Have an awesome time! Let me know how you like the show.
