Izzy sensed the change in the air immediately upon arriving at David's lab. Of course, she was greeted with the kindest smile and a warm hug but the weird stiffness in her friend caught her attention.
"Did something happen?" she asked, raising her eyebrow at David who began to act even weirder.
"No, please, do not worry about it," he tried to reassure her. Worrying her or ruining what he had so carefully planned was at the bottom of the list of things he'd like to see happening. But he needed her to play along just a bit longer.
"David," she placed her hand on his shoulder, "you can tell me."
Her soft voice, sooting as always put a wide grin on his lips. Izzy had always possessed the power to warm his cold robotic arm.
"I've got something to show you," he whispered. The barely noticeable mischievous tone in his voice made Izzy's heart skip a beat. She didn't want to meet another one of his 'creations' since the last project was very close to eating her face. David would later refer to this as an 'incident' which was a clear understatement.
"Okay," Izzy nodded briefly, prompting David to take her soft hand in his own and lead her to the neighbouring room.
It was engulfed in darkness and even she has troubles telling the shapes apart. David made sure that she was standing in the right spot and only then reached out for the light switch. Izzy blinked a few times, trying to adjust her vision to a sudden brightness but the view wasn't close to anything she's been imagining for the past few minutes.
"Did you think I forgot?" David whispered in her ear, self-confidence apparent in his voice.
The room was decorated from head to toe. Colourful balloons, flower garlands, hearts made out of paper were hanging from the ceiling and glued to the walls. A huge sign with a 'Happy Birthday!' written on it was stretching from one corner of the room to the other. And the birthday cake placed on a table in the centre, right before Izzy, left no doubts. David hadn't forgotten.
"It's beautiful!" Izzy jumped in joy, clapping with a child-like grin enlightening her features. "Thank you so much!"
"Happy birthday, my dear," David whispered but it wasn't the end of the surprises. He still had one behind his back. He handed her a tiny box and she looked at him with anticipation. It contained a pair of earrings. But not something usual and cliche. The charms were shaped like small angel wings, white with a pinch of silver glitter sparking on their surface. Something about them was so different that Izzy knew David must have created them himself.
She closed the box and wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling a single dear of pure joy racing down her cheek.
"Can you check something for me? I have this issu... Sometimes my left face just.. uhm... wents down... looks like I have a stroke or something when it happens, but no pain luckily... I have an appointment to check it, but takes a while till it will be and I... I just want a second opinion... And since you are once have been a neuro-doctor... maybe you have any idea?"
That could be a lot of things, it depends of what you’re feeling. I mean, is it the entire left side of your face? Or just a small sector? Does that happen in other regions of your body? Do your senses also get affected? Does that happen and then later gets back to normal, or is it permanent? Do you lose sensibility or just movement? According to what you said, I would bet it’s facial nerve paralysis, Bell’s palsy or peripheral facial nerve palsy, but that’s just a guess. The causes are unknown, but some studies believe viruses such as herpes simplex might cause it. Most patients get super scared about strokes, but well, if your face returns to normal after a while, I doubt it was one. Anyway, I can’t examine you or check you properly from here, so make sure to see a specialist, get some tests done and...try to not worry about it.
I was tagged by the lovely @thefasstasticvoyage - thank you!

My sweet summer children who never did anything wrong in their lives - David 8 and Harley Quinn

XD
A/N: Thank you for trusting me with your OC! It’s a huge honour to be able to write about someone’s character and I am so happy that you offered me a chance to do so. And I’m so sorry it took me so long to write!
Summary: David has been intrigued by Izzy since the day they met only to discover the feeling is mutual when he finally decides to take a first step.
🎄 SEND ME SOME CHRISTMAS REQUESTS 🎄
Izzy trembled with fear when a cold hand stroked her shoulder but it didn't take her much time to recognize the familiar touch. She turned around, welcoming the guest with a weak smile.
"Hello, David," she said and moved on the couch to leave some free space for the android who sat down beside her with a grateful smile. Normally, he would have used this chance to remind any other person of his superiority over humans in the fact that he didn't get tired but with Izzy, he didn't feel forced to do so. At first, he wanted to feel the same kind of disdain for her but his attempts to hate her failed. There was something so unearthly about her; the way she spoke, moved, smiled and treated him like a full-fledged crew member would often transform her into a celestial being in his own eyes. However, it was one of that rare moments when she seemed drained.
David tilted his head, looking closely at her face.
"Is something bothering you?" he asked with genuine concern.
Izzy smiled and shook her head, trying to hide her emotional state but she knew that David wouldn't have let her brush it off so easily. She glanced at him and when their eyes met, something told her that she could fully trust him with any confession. In his presence, she found comfort, the world around her stopped looking so frightening and unwelcoming.
With a sigh, she looked down at her hands.
"Do you ever feel, I do not know, trapped in a body that limits you?" she asked and the android couldn't fight back the smile surfacing on his lips.
"Yes, indeed," he replied, watching carefully as she absently played with the bracelet on her wrist. "My physical body creates a lot of limitations for my mind. Why does it interest you?"
She sighed, unsure if she was ready to share the whole truth about her origin and life with David. She trusted him as a friend and every moment spent with him was bringing them even closer but despite the fact that she treated him like a person the thought of him not being a human lurked in the depths of her mind, making her question the possibility of him being able to grasp the enormity of her dilemmas.
"It was just a thought," she waved her hand. She shouldn't have been so open with him. Sometimes she was scared that she'd shared the truth with way too many people as it was, she couldn't risk confessing to anyone else.
But David wasn't going to retreat once something sparked his curiosity. His smile grew even wider and he leaned forward, trying to regain eye contact with Izzy.
"I would gladly help you," he offered, "but first you must tell me about what's troubling your mind."
"Maybe another time," she smiled and shrugged suddenly feeling cornered.
Izzy got up from the couch and gave him a polite nod but he managed to grab her wrist as she was walking past him. She looked at the fingers locked around her hand with a slight concern but one firm move proved to be enough to free herself.
"I wanted to talk with you, too," David said, rising from the seat. He looked restrained.
"Sure," Izzy cleared her throat, encouraging him to speak. She suddenly realized how close they were which was unusual because David would always try to avoid physical contact with other people. She was even more surprised when, without any sign of warning, he leaned in and his cold lips met hers. Involuntary she raised her hands as if to push him away but eventually changed her mind and placed them gently on his chest. The kiss didn't last long but it seemed like the heaven and hell collided in its background and the energy of the impact was somehow hidden beneath the brief touch. When he pulled back, Izzy looked at him with a mixture of shock and admiration.
"Another time perhaps," he repeated her own words and with a slight bow he walked towards the exit."
izzyweisz replied to your post: unpopular opinion: liking Lucifer doesn't mean...
You know what is funny? No one makes you feel shit for liking Loki… And he is a villian too, isn’t he? Or Hannibal? Or all the others… But oh no, don’t like Lucifer or you are worse than the devil… Such bullshit…
Yes, because he's the Devil. If you look closely, this is literally the only point everyone who will tell you that ends up with. He's the Devil, you can't like him! He's LITERALLY THE DEVIL!!! How can you like the literal DEVIL?
They are so narrow-minded and biased by their hate for "The Devil" that they fail to see everything else about him. It's pathetic, really. And it would be funny if it weren't so sad -.-
May I ask how your list looks? Like, how many stories do you have to finish and on what number on that list is a second part for David and Izzy? XD
I have another 20 stories that I will be posting till the 25th of December then I am kinda forced to visit my parents so I’m guessing I will be able to start working on the second part on the 26th :)
