Asura ✅ 5/5 One of the greatest tv shows I’ve ever seen from an acting perspective. Never felt like I was watching a J-drama, but just a family dealing with their father’s affair and trauma. Some of the best writing, direction, and cinematography I’ve seen in J drama. Hirose Suzu and Aoi Yu were my standout performances, but everyone was so good in this. It didn’t feel like acting, but like I was actually watching a family struggle with real family issues. The playful banter, the petty fights, the apologies. It was all too real and anyone with siblings or a close family will get it. Laughed, cried and smiled along with this series.

ALSO, Hirose Suzu the fucking icon you are. I need more recs for series with her.

what Japanese shows are good rn? ongoing or recently ended. i'm currently watching Make Up with Mud (spectacular gimme 14 of em right now), Sugar Dog Life (spectacular gimme 14 of em right now), and Happy of the End (#those scenes are QUITE off-putting, but otherwise spectacular gimme 14 of em right now) and the time between episode drops is KILLING me. i need more plsplspls

Arisu is so fucking funny. They’re in a survival game and this wise but also batshit game master who almost got him killed is standing stark naked next to him. Kyuma’s ass on full display and softie arisu is crying saying ‘we could’ve been friends’ I don’t mean to laugh at such a serious moment but like 😂 Most people would avoid the naked game master out of discomfort or at least keep their distance and arisu goes right up to him as if he’s wearing clothes and says he wants to be friends. He’s so soft and funny I cannot

I haven't watched as many as I'd like but I do enjoy them! I gotta be honest I've really only watched J Dramas with that sweet sweet aspec rep like Koisenu Futari and Konya Sukiyaki Daiyo. When I was in high school I used to watch K Dramas a lot but I haven't in a while. I've had the Korean Leverage show on my to watch list for ages now. Send me some recs! I'd love to get back into them. I should start there. Especially if there is a relatively easy way to watch them with English subtitles.

Hi this is a PSA to people who don’t know that there is a new JDrama called Koisenu Futari airing right now that is about two aroace characters cohabiting together and ensuing shenanigans! I have no idea how to get the subs for the show (a friend of mine showed it to me), but letting y’all know about it!

(There’s four episodes out as of February 11, 2022 and they’re all great)
