POTSHOT was a poppy Japanese ska punk band in the 90s and early 2000s. With a very melodic and fast sound, and lots of “woahs”, their music gives a very nostalgic feeling of the late 90s early 2000s pop punk and ska era. They were on Asian Man Records and went on a US tour with MU330. They introduced many American punks to j-ska, and had a different and distinct sound compared to American 3rd wave ska bands. Those who saw Potshot remember the insane energy and fun vibe they had. The band broke up on 2005, but has done many reunion shows in Japan.
This band hold a special place in my heart, I grew up on them. My dad has good taste.
Potshot live in Chicago, 3/31/2000
