But perhaps that’s why Clarke takes pity on him. Lord knows she has mountains more to blame herself for than he does.

So Murphy extends his arm and lets her see the burn; hisses violently and takes a desperate swig of rum when she turns his wrist to get a good look. “ What’s the verdict, doc? ” he asks through gritted teeth, bitter sarcasm l a c e d into every word. “ Sure hope you don’t have to amputate.
