"Shoes From Six Continents Showing At MU Museum of Anthropology Through July 1"

The University of Missouri Museum of Anthropology is currently showing an exhibit displaying shoes from world cultures. "We chose this exhibit because we wanted to display the Chinese Lotus Shoes, which are made of silk and deteriorate quickly," Said museum curator Candace Sall. The exhibit contains many types of shoes but the focus is the Chinese Lotus Shoes. Lotus Shoes were the shoes worn by Chinese women who bound there feet until the practice was outlawed by the Chinese government in the early 1900's.
