Damon split shortly after Maeve was killed. He fronted during the times that Jace’s father would beat him. He’d endure the beatings and would shield Jace from the torture that their father inflicted upon them.
For years he endure the pain with no hope of escaping. He might be the system’s avenger but he wasn’t immune to the suffering Karl put him through. He just channeled the pain and turned it into built up rage instead of crippling fear.
The other time he fronted was to carry out the escape plan than had unknowingly been devised by his fellow alter, Castor.
Now, since Jace had learnt to better manage his fears around conflict as the avatar of Aker, Damon only fronts whenever Jace is at high risk of dying, being the last resort in protection against anything. Aker gives most of his power to Damon to cause destruction if need be.
The times Castor fronted was whenever Jace had panic attacks, severe anxiety attacks, breakdowns overwhelming emotions or mental shut downs. Anything that threatened his survival mentally. They were usually results of the beatings that he endured at the hands of his father.
Castor would front as a form of self soothing and coping mechanism, creating an escape from the overwhelming feelings.
After four years, it came to a point he had had enough. Sometime around the time the system turned 11, Elton made the executive decision to put all his effort into finding a way to escape. He was made aware of Elton and the times he fronted became the time he worked with Elton to help him to devise a solid plan. They weren’t going to allow it to fail like their mother had. They had one chance and they had to make it count.
Once him and Elton settled with a plan, they handed the job of executing it to Damon.
Later in life, more so once Jace bonds with Aker Castor tends to front more often than the other alters, and becomes Jace’s second voice of reason.
✯ Personality: ✯ Elton is like the gatekeeper and observer of the system. He is the most aware of the system’s alters and is the one alerted when a split happens. He’s more reserved than most, often keeping to himself and rarely allows himself to front. He’s more idealistic than the rest of the system and was a big part in assisting in the planning of Jace’s escape.
He is very analytical and observant of things around him, always curious to learn more about their alters given it’s their job to know everything and be aware. They are also very open-minded yet this sometimes is a problem because it makes them aware of the trauma Jace suffered when a child. Elton’s story isn’t very long. He split earlier in Jace’s life as an alter who was almost fully aware of the system, he almost never fronted. Spending most of his time behind the scenes and working to keep the system in order and make sure they had a place to go inside their mind.
He only showed up later in Jace’s life when Castor decided that he wanted to escape their father. It was the only time he fronted more frequently to help devise the plan. Other than that he wasn’t one to front, not seeing a need to be when he was doing everything to keep the alters safe in their subconscious mind.

BACKSTORY:

Jace spent the first few years living a fairly normal life in Greece with his parents and younger sister, Maeve. It wasn’t until he was 5 when his father began drinking heavily. He became violent, often beating Jace and Maeve for no particular reason. He targeted Jace and constantly blamed him for things that were never his fault. Within the first year Jace had narrowly escaped death twice. It was in this time that he began developing alters to suppress the memories and protect himself, yet he had little to no recall of their appearances.
His mother made plans on escaping and when he was 7 him and his sister prepared to flee. However, it was a stormy night, that night was their planned escape but Jace’s father stopped them. In a mad attempt to make one more break for it, a fight broke out between Jace’s parents, a rather brutal one that led to his father stabbing his mother right in front of him.
Jace had been at this point protecting Maeve and shielding her from the violence, however when his father approached he attempted to protect his sister and fight back. Being a little boy it did nothing and he was tossed aside, forced to watch as his father brutally murdered his sister. His father then proceeded to beat him half to death.
From that day on he was basically held captive by his father who beat and tortured him both physically and emotionally. Drilling it into his brain that it was him who created the escape plan and because of that was the reason his mother and sister were dead. He was only allowed out for school and was threatened never to tell anyone of his situation.
He was about 15 when he finally managed to safely escape, his knowledge of said escape was unknown to him due to the fact one of his alters had devised it and put it into motion. His following memories are of him arriving in London where he spent the rest of his time. He’d occasionally loose time, because of this finding a job was hard given he didn’t trust himself. He spent his time hiding in books filled with mythology and folklore and eventually got into Ethology, the study of animal behaviour which is what he now practices.
At the age of 17 he was in a place at the wrong time, shot in the side after trying to protect a little girl. It was then that he was approached by the God Aker. A Lion covered in leopard spots, asked to help guard the sun, as an avatar by the power of two lions be able to help protect people and become his Hypnotic Horizon. Jace of course agreed. He spends his days now carrying out the work of an avatar while balancing his life as a normal student.
Because of his past and the trauma that came with it, Jace has Dissociative Identity Disorder or DID as well as PTSD attacks, extreme anxiety under any form of interrogations, panic attacks and blackouts.
Working for Aker for 2 years helped him to slowly learn about the existence of his alters. He learnt to work with them instead of against them.
He’s discovered and taken in by the Avengers at the age of 19.
