A few days ago, I saw some Disneyfied Hook fan art on DA, and it made me rewatch the movie. I imagined the animated film, and I started drawing it. I filled five pages of my sketchbook in a single day.
I started researching all the Lost Boys that have appeared on Disney, from the Disney Junior show my nephew watched as a kid, the originals, the ones that appeared on OUAT, and even the ones that appeared in the new 2023 live-action series. (I also wanted to include the Lost Boys who star in Hook.) Simply because there are a lot of children in the movie, and it occurred to me to add them to Hook's AU.
My obsession reached the point where I started looking for every voice actor who would play the characters. Even casting Will Arnett as Peter Banning… If he's the one who played Sweet Pete…
I just imagined a teaser showing Peter waking up startled from a nightmare (The Chip & Dale Movie), with Ranger Rescue playing in the background in the living room, and his children Jack and Maggie fast asleep next to him… (I saw that the series aired from 1989-1990, so it fits the era.)
Right now, I'm doing some height references for the characters, trying to draw them Disney-style. And these are the ones I've got so far (The red paint was because I spilled it while helping my nephew with a project).
One thing I'll change from the movie is that Jack is 12, like Peter, since in Hook, when Peter Pan left Neverland, he was 10 years old, so they would both be the same age as a parallel.
For now, this is what I'll put down for my ideas because I have a lot of them in my head and I need to organize them.
Sleep deeply buddy…..sleeeep. Jack Banning lays Honest John down to sleep.

I Wish (Rufio X Reader) Pt. 2
Request: Okay, so what I was thinking, in Hook there’s this guy Rufio and I was thinking that maybe the reader would be Peter Pan’s daughter and she somehow ends up in Neverland and the reader is like super shy and loves to paint/draw? You’ll know what I’m talking about when/if you watch the movie. Thank you!!!
A/N: Hope this was worth the months of anticipation, anon. Thanks for sticking by me and waiting for me to write this. I had a blast. Lemme know if you ever need anything else. Enjoy!
Arriving in Neverland, was amazing. You’d never seen anything like it. A whole fantasy island straight from the pages of your favourite book here for you to explore. As soon as you’d arrived, Tink had sped off, promising she’d be back with the band of Lost Boys.
The idea of meeting a large group of people made you nervous but you didn’t tell Tink that. Your shyness was something you were slightly ashamed of, especially when you saw your younger siblings approach new people with such enthusiasm and eagerness. Your mother once told you that you’d always been a quiet child. You were sure she meant well, but that only made you feel worse about yourself.
“I wonder where I am and how far the Lost Boys are from here.” You mumbled to yourself, eyes scanning the trees for any signs of life besides yourself and the occasional bird. You were about to turn around and walk back to the spot where Tink had left you to wait for her when something grabbed you by the wrist. You turned, already wiggling to get free of whatever had you.
Turns out, what had you was a person. Not just any person, a pirate. Not just any pirate, Captain Hook himself. The very last person you’d expected to see on your trip to Neverland. You felt your stomach drop as he sneered, eyes lighting up with a childlike sort of glee. You gulped, trying to pull your arm free from his grip. Unfortunately for you, Captain Hook was a full grown man and you were still basically a child. You opened your mouth to protest against whatever was going on.
“Relax, child. You’ll do nicely. The perfect bait to get those Lost Boys out of hiding wherever they are.” He cackled and you became aware of just how much danger you were in.
“What do you want with me? The Lost Boys won’t come find me. They don’t even know who I am. Why would they want to rescue me?” Your usual shyness was overpowered by your utter anger and desperation to escape from Captain Hook’s clutches. He chuckled menacingly.
“Don’t worry, dear. They’ll come looking for you. And when they do… I’ll be waiting.” He promised, shoving you along in the direction of the coastline toward where you assumed his boat was. You glanced over your shoulder. Where was Tink?
~
“How do you know we can trust this person?” Rufio asked Tink who was flying slightly ahead, leading the whole group of Lost Boys.
Tink rolled her eyes. The Lost Boys were so overprotective of themselves and those who came to Neverland unannounced.
“They came from Wendy Darling’s bedroom. The very same one Peter Pan flew into and never returned from. They have Neverland in their blood, I can feel it. Trust me on this one, Rufio.” She landed on his shoulder.
“Would I ever steer you wrong?”
Rufio considered Tink’s question. No. Tinker Bell would never steer him or any of the Lost Boys wrong, ever. She was their friend and she had been since the time of Peter Pan. That meant this person was worth trekking through the woods to meet. They reached the edge of a clearing and Tink began fluttering everywhere, searching for something. Or rather someone.
“I left them right here.” She frowned, landing on his shoulder and Rufio tensed. If Tink truly had left the mystery person here and she was not here now, that meant one of two things had happened. Either they had wandered off into the surrounding woods and got lost or… Captain Hook had gotten to them first.
He began to circle the clearing like Tink had done previously, searching for anything out of the ordinary.
“Rufio!” One of the younger Lost Boys called and Rufio turned to see what was the matter. The boy was holding up a piece of parchment with a crude message scrawled onto it. He felt his stomach drop as he walked over and snatched it from the Lost Boys hand, reading it over. Hook had Tink’s mystery person.
“What do we do now?” Someone asked, watching Rufio read the note over again. Rufio crumpled the note in his hand and tossed it onto the ground. He turned to the Lost Boys.
“Obviously we rescue them.” He raised his sword into the air and all the Lost Boys cheered.
~
You sat, tied to the bottom of the mast. You weren’t sure why Hook even bothered. The Lost Boys wouldn’t care enough to rescue you. You were certain your own father wouldn’t even care enough to rescue you. You wouldn’t even rescue yourself. You hung your head, a tear sliding down your face. What you wouldn’t give to be back home chasing Maggie and Jack at this moment, instead of tied to a stupid mast.
“Hook!” A voice shouted and your head shot up. A group of boys was approaching the ship you were on. On what you assumed was the leader’s shoulder, stood Tinker Bell. The leader, a spunky looking boy with spiky hair and a cheeky smile seemed to be the one who had spoken.
“I believe you have something… or rather someone of ours.” He gripped a sword in his hand, eyes full of mischief. If you hadn’t known any better you would have thought this was Peter Pan. But Tink had told you on the way here that Peter Pan had left many, many years ago. He’d gone off to grow up. While you mused about the mysterious leader of the Lost Boys, Hook was preparing for a fight with him.
The two glared at each other in a stand off and it was clear that Hook wasn’t going to let you go without a fight. And then, with the swing of the leader’s sword, the fight had begun. Some Lost Boys raced up the ship to untie you while the pirates were distracted with the battle happening on the docks.
Your face felt hot as you were released from the ropes. ‘Th- Thanks.” You stumbled over your words. The boys just smiled kindly and chorused: “No problem!” back to you.
You joined them running back to the docks to join the other Lost Boys who were enjoying the fight happening in front of you.
“He’s not going to hurt himself, is he?” You asked, worried for your saviour but the others just chuckled.
“Rufio is the best fighter out of all of us.” One of the boys piped up. “He’s almost as good as Peter Pan himself. Hook hasn’t beaten him yet.”
Eventually, Hook surrendered and the Lost Boys began the trek back to the woods. Rufio hung back a bit to talk to you.
“Hi. My name’s Rufio.” He smiled slightly. “I don’t believe we’ve been formally introduced.”
You shyly smiled. “I… My n- name’s (Y/n).” You told him, slightly embarrassed. You were mentally kicking yourself for how horrible you sounded.
“(Y/n), hm? That’s a really nice name… It suits you.” He smiled cheekily. Your eyes widened and your cheeks dusted slightly pink.
“Th- Thank you, Rufio.” You looked down at your feet. He shrugged and the two of you walked a few paces in silence.
“What’s that?”
Rufio’s loud voice cut through your thoughts. At first you’d thought he’d been talking to someone else but you realized he was pointing to the sketchbook in your satchel that you’d managed to grab before you’d leapt out the room with Tinker Bell. You’d totally forgot you’d even brought it.
“I- It’s a sketchpad. For drawing.” You flushed and he tilted his head.
“Drawing?”
“Yeah.. You want me to draw you something?” You asked, still staring at your feet. The more you said the more you wished you’d just shut up already. He didn’t want a stupid drawing-
“Yeah. Show me.” He grinned, stopping and you looked up wide eyed. You sat down on a nearby rock, pulled the pencil out of the sketchbook and got to work. Rufio tossed his sword around while he waited for you to finish.
~
“Are you done?” He asked, looking up. “I’m bored.”
You giggled and held the sketchbook up for him to see. It was a drawing of him when he’d been locked in combat with Captain Hook. You had decided against drawing the scurvy pirate, wanting to focus all your attention on the leader of the Lost Boys. He slowly took the book out of your hands, breathing out a small impressed sound.
“Incredible.” He ran his fingers along the page.
“Rufio, (Y/n), there you are.” Tink flew out of the trees from seemingly nowhere. “I have to get (Y/n) back home to their room before anyone there notices they’re gone.”
You could see the look of disappointed look on Rufio’s face. He had just discovered something amazing and you had to go already. You smiled slightly, taking the sketchbook back and ripping the page out.
“Here, Rufio. Why don’t you hang onto this for me?” You asked softly, watching as his face lit up. He took the page from you and grinned.
“Will you be back?” He asked, sounding hopeful. You hesitated, not really knowing if you would.
“Maybe.”
“I’m going to make you something for when you come back.” He vowed. You smiled slightly.
“I… I can’t wait to see it then, Rufio.” You kissed his cheek and he turned slightly scarlet. Then you turned, smiling at Tink to let her know you were ready to leave Neverland and return to London.
“Good bye, (Y/n)!”
“Good bye, Rufio!”
~
“Did you have a good visit with Granny Wendy?” Your father asked as the two of you walked to the cab waiting to take you to the airport. You looked over your shoulder at the house, smiling slightly.
“Yeah, dad. It was magical.” You told him and he chuckled.
“I’m sure I’ll hear all about it on the flight home, won’t I?” He asked, ruffling your hair affectionately. He hadn’t done that since you were really little.
“Thanks for being such a good sport, kiddo. I think once we get home, you’ll find things are a lot better than they were before. And hey, I cleared some of the fridge. Granny Wendy tells me you’ve been drawing quite a bit while you’ve been here. Think you have enough to cover the fridge?” He asked.
You nodded enthusiastically as the two of you hopped into the cab. You missed Granny Wendy already… But mostly you missed Neverland and Rufio. You hesitantly reached into your satchel and pulled out Peter Pan to flick through on the ride.
Your father looked down at you and smiled slightly. “Miss Neverland already, hm?”
You flicked a page and smiled softly. “You have no idea, dad.”
