The Deal: part one
Becky sat in the School’s office after hours waiting for her guest to arrive. She had convinced Rufus to go home early assuring him that she could handle the paperwork. Her guest was late and she was becoming impatient. She heard the soft sound of boots hitting carpeted floors.
“Why hello my dear Rebecca, so pleasant to see you.” Her guest approached suave as ever. Jack Jerome the infamous jewel thief. His clever grin placed the smallest smile on her face. She quickly fixed her face back into a neutral expression. “Are you just going to stand there attempting to charm me or are we going to talk about business?” She leaned back against the front desk. The thick scent of card stock and pencil shavings hung heavy in the air.
The two stood close to each other as they spoke in hushed voices. What they didn’t realize was that they were being watched. Amelia Blunt a well-respected agent in the FBI, also Jack’s wife. A spark of flaming jealousy was ignited in her as she observed them talking. She kept reminding herself that this was all part of the plan but she couldn’t help it seeing the way Jack charmed the girl in there.
Future Dreams
“Now that we have the diamond where should we go?” Amelia asked the man sitting close to her on the Balcony of her small apartment. She had waited three months for this. Three months to be able to tell him that she loved him. Three months to hold his hand. Three months to spend the rest of her life with him. “How about the place where it all started.” Jack suggested giving her a genuine smile, “Rio it is then,” she agreed with him. Amelia tilted her head slightly resting it on top of Jack’s and they sat like that until they both were asleep dreaming of adventure and their future.

“So you understand the plan?” Becky nodded as Jack took her hand and placed a soft kiss on top of it. Then he left as quickly as he arrived. Not quick enough to avoid running into Amelia. “So is everything set up” ,she asked her lips resting in a tight line. “Everything is perfect”, he raised a hand to place on her shoulder but she dodged it and turned to walk away. She didn’t even look over her shoulder as she coldly stated, “Great.” Maybe things aren’t as perfect as our jewel thief originally thought. He had fallen for a diamond but would the pressure finally break her? He reached out again this time landing on her shoulder and turning her around to look at him, “you don’t seem great.” His love rolled her eyes responding coldly, “I am fine Jack just leave it.” Now he knew something was wrong, “oh come on, I know you better than to believe that. Just talk to me, tell me what’s bothering you?” She tapped her foot impatiently shaking her head slightly, “Do I really need to spell it out for you, what was all that in there.”
“Amelia it’s all just part of the plan you,” he looked at her apologetically begging for her to forgive him. “The plan I agreed to didn’t have any,” she bowed slightly mimicking how Jack kissed Becky’s hand, “in it.” She huffed crossing her arms. “I had to charm her, get her to trust me. You know you’re the only one for me.” He gently unfolded her arms holding her hands keeping her attention on him. “I still think you could have gotten her to trust you some other way,” Amelia protested and Jack looked at her, softly saying, “You’re right, I should have tried something else and I’m very sorry.” She sighed finally accepting his apology and pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. They went back to their apartment and just enjoyed each other's company.
