I fear Jack does not realize how much trouble Dennis would be if he had an up to date rabies shot.
Farm boy would be able to pet all the fluffy mammals with the most dangerous consequence off the table.
Cause we all know he has probably wanted to pet a raccoon or something like that multiple times growing up and the small possibility of rabies has been deterrent enough. Now if that's off the table and the only possible things he could catch are all treatable...... whats there to stop him from giving into the intrusive thoughts.

Dennis is the type to go "Look!" and he's dangling some snake he just found curled up in a corner of their backyard giving his boyfriends a slight heart attack. the raccoons love him because he purposefully leaves the trash lid open for them to dig around in. Take him to the touch tank at an aquarium and he's up to his elbows in the water. Trinity got him special tickets to the sea lion show and they let him go up to get a high five and he talked about it for weeks.
He gets the updated rabies shot after finding little Jack Junior (Trinity is campaigning to call the 3 legged kitten Tripod) and now every single animal is a possible friend. Begs for his partners to pull over if they somehow pass by a cow pasture. If there is a dog at the function, he finds it. Robby makes the mistake of making a joke about a bat being in the attic and now Jack is manhandling the kid so he doesn't go climbing to look for it.
