I learned today from my mom that apparently my great grandfather was also obsessed with Joan of Arc. I don’t know what this means exactly but I think it suggests being a weird girl is hereditary
anyway I have a (haunted?) picture of him on my wall. the picture is from the early 1920s and fell off the wall the day he was crushed at the saw mill at work and almost died. the glass in the picture shattered, and he tried to throw it out and my aunt wouldn’t let him. It used to hang in my childhood home and I would always feel comforted when I looked at it, and now he hangs on my apartment wall.

he was my best friend back in arizona! his name was ryder thomas. he, like i said before, was basically my brother. he would take care of me whenever dad got drunk and we would hangout for days on-end man.
..but not anymore,, y’see he died in a car crash a couple years back, sandstorm hit.

SDKFJLSKJDFKLJSDFJ well. when i was A Child (approximately 6-7 years old; this was post-orca whale phase, pre-penguin phase, as far as childhood animal obsessions go), at the point in my life in which i became aware that i would have to, eventually, Consider The Future (have yet to get a knack for this particular skill), i Really Liked dolphins/marine animals AND i really, really liked writing (obviously this has not changed). and i think i must've watched some natural geographic show about dolphin training or something, because when prompted for my Life Career Goal in kindergarten. my answer was "dolphin book author." i Also wanted to train dolphins, but i think, even at this very small brain age, i understood my own limits and was realistic about y'know. being from a landlocked state and a 16-hour drive from the ocean. BUT I KNEW I COULD ALWAYS WRITE ABOUT 'EM. so that was the goal. my two childhood passions happily merged into one!
(...in hindsight, i... i did this for university too, oh god: wanted to pursue both creative writing AND astrophysics and chose the writing because it... seemed more reasonably attainable and........ i can write.... about space................. oh dear i think i'm having a CRISIS)

They've only seen 8a so far but we're gonna start watching it from S1 soon and I'm gonna give them linos as we get to the episodes they're inspired by ISN'T THAT SO SICK I'M SO EXCITED!!!! I just wanted to ramble a bit here hehehe haven't done this in ages and I have lots of life updates for everyone yayyyy ALSO there has been so much support for prints genuinely I am struggling to process it!!! I'm gonna potentially be able to fund top surgery through this and also if you told me at any point earlier in my life that I was like somehow maybe an actual artist I would have been so so happy it means so much aaaa
