@whitefangthefightingwolf Celebration for various reasons! I meant to have this for you back a few days ago but uhhh put it off. Becuase I was also putting off the drawing for our project!
It's the way they just shamelessly do this shit in front of Hammond that gets me
"Good Morning"
And here we go...the Sam/Jack piece done!
more stargate rant ahead
as much as this show is p dumb, with weird ideas and massive leaps in logic, all the dumbass plots across ten plus seasons gives a bunch of weird opportunities for acting
since theres stuff with robot duplicates, clones, parallel universes, its not uncommon for actors to get to play themselves, and its neat to watch because you see these characters, faces, that youve grown familiar with acting wildly different
and it must be really fun for the actors to get to be like, evil versions of themselves,
but i wanna point towards one episode in particular, s7e6 - Lifeboat, basic plot summary: daniel jackson gets a dozen personalities zooped into his body
the details dont really matter, but the cool thing i wanna talk about is how amazing a job that micheal shanks did in this episode, he plays daniel, an arrogant regent, a fuckin six year old child, and a pessimistic engineer, it just gives such an oppertunity to show the fucking range that these people can manage (also uses a different voice for each)
like oh my god the way he says 'but we'll be together'
this shit is impressive and i wanna talk to everyone in this show
i dont have anything to like, analyze, but i just wanna point out how good the acting really is in this show, and what cool opportunities for awesome acting that the otherwise kinda goofy setup that the show often has
Don't spoil anything but I think this episode O'Neill is going to be rude and unhelpful and delay negotiations with X Alien Culture
I’m gonna lose it (or I already have)
Can I just say that Jack and Vala's interactions would have been so much fun if they'd had more time together on screen. Like Jack just continually makes pop culture references and Vala isnt like Tealc she wont just raise an eyebrow and let it slide she'd ask Questions. And they would bond over driving Daniel up the wall. He would introduce her to so much pop culture, happily explaining his favorite shows to her. And her stories and exploits would interest him so much. And he would definitely be like a surrogate older brother to her after hearing some of the worst parts of her life. Not to mention he would never ever let Baal near her ever again.
