Story Idea! RoTG
Basically, Jack gets wings. At a price. This is just the first part, the second part will explain more. I'm thinking about writing this, should I?
Harsh sounds wheezed from her mouth has she tittered through the air. Jack was silent as she pulled him up along the mountain side.
She was concerned about him, had to get him to safety. She ignored the stream of blood pouring down her side as she beat large wings to carry her Jack to a safe spot. The small valley came into view and she eased Jack over the trees and into it, settling him down in soft grass.
She smiled, stroked his cheek, and suddenly fell to her knees. She settled back as if to take a nap and closed her eyes.
Jack had been shocked at her form but rolled over onto his knees to look at her.
The grass was bent around her and her large wings that she kept tucked close, long blond hair was interwoven between some stalks, and the ragged clothing was lose around her tan frame. She looked as if an angel came to nap in the wild, except for the red that stained her.
“Wind?” Jack voice was barely there but she heard anyway, blinking her eyes open to smile at him.
“Jack.” At that Jack cried, head on her shoulder, curled around her. They stayed like that, Wind murmuring to Jack and Jack sobbing until he was too tired to cry anymore.
As Jack spelt fitfully on and off, and Wind thought of her life. Her life that she had spent helping and guiding Jack, becoming his wings. She was suddenly struck by the thought that her Jack was stuck here because he couldn’t fly.
The moon, which had previously been covered, was revealed by the movement of clouds and Wind stared at it like she could see Manny himself. “Keep my Jack safe. Give him wings since I can no longer be so myself.”
The moon seemed to brighten and dim as her life did too, Jack startling awake as she grew cold. “Wind!” Jack grabbed her arm as she started to fade and turn into a bright shower of sparks that dissipated after a moment.
Jack was left alone.
