Seeing Steve again wasn't the clean break I wanted. Cuz he was still dirty. Still a bastard. Still that cynical son of a... But he was my war buddy. And he wasn't dead. Part of me hated that I felt relief. Maybe he changed. Maybe he finally grew a conscience. Or maybe I'm the fool, growing yet another soft spot. Maybe. In the end, we're all just cogs in some rich man's machine. Grinding away until we break.

ok so I just saw your tags about Kings and. Yes. Am I the only one who thought there were some similarities... blonde beefcake golden retriever soldier with a heart of gold risks his life to save sebstan in battle... honestly the start of the series reads like royalty au stucky??? pls.
No, you’re not the only one!This show practically BEGS for a Stucky AU, I tell you!Steve as David and Bucky as Jack??? ALL THE YES. I’d read the fuck out of this AU. But not just this, but a crossover where Jack is still Jack and Steve falls for him? I need that as well. I need to see Jack Benjamin being loved and cherished and taken care of and protected.(I mean I get it, Stucky is our ultimate OTP, so it’s hard for us to picture Steve with anyone other than Bucky… but Jack is still one of Seb’s characters, and just like with TJ Hammond in Political Animals, I’m willing to be flexible if that means we get to see Jack happy).
