Consider the following: Rhys as a very confused tourist who ends up as Handsome Jack's PA by mistake, and just wants to go home but can't figure out how to leave now that Jack has decided he likes this new PA. Rhys just winging everything and somehow succeeding, while also trying to resign and go home every damn day.
I am unreasonably charmed by the notion of Rhys trying to resign every day and Jack just steamrolling right over him.
“I quit.”“Cute. See you tomorrow.”
“I didn’t actually sign up for this.”
“That’s what they all say. Be sure to send me the Zlazny files before you go home for the day.”
Rhys really would leave, would grab his passport and run, except for two things: 1) Jack desperately, desperately needs someone to take control of his schedule, and 2) Rhys is actually kind of good at this.
The longer he stays, the harder it’s going to be to leave. Rhys knows this.
Just one more day.
