"fuckin' bastards." thalia mumbled as she looked at the state of the armory. they'd gotten mostly everything that wasn't under lock and key. she took the moment to unlock the safe, storing two handguns in her belt as she exited the building. she knew this would happen, nothing was ever this good. the city was in shambles, broken glass everywhere, trails of blood, crops ripped from the ground and the stock they'd built taken from them. she had tunnel vision on for the moment, but
when she heard a noise behind her, she snapped to attention, drawing her weapon as she turned to the other. "hey, that's close enough." thalia had met raiders face to face in her time, she knew they were not to played with. better safe than sorry. "what do you want?"
Hands shaking as she did her best to wrap the gauze that she found, around her stomach from the deep cut she got to stop the bleeding. She struggled as one arm was broken and useless. She wasn't even sure if the gauze would be tight enough to stop the bleeding. Gemma truly believed she was going to die from bleeding out. Tears were streaming down her face, holding back the scream she desperately wanted to let out. The sob that fought to escape her as she was hiding in the closet, worried that if she lets out any noise a raider would find her.
She was scared, alone and shaken up from the invasion of the raiders. Everything in the hospital was damaged or stolen. There were people out there that needed help but her body couldn't move due to fear. Gemma felt useless. The same feeling she felt years ago when she couldn't save those who got infected. She snapped out of her thoughts when she heard footsteps outside her door. Hand covering her mouth to keep quiet.
Jo stood behind a post outside the bar, gun aimed and actively attempting to slow the raiders. It was evident that a lot of her was enjoying this, not the town being torn apart and it's citizens - a lot of them her friends - being ransacked. But the call to action, she reveled in it. "Hold back, I don't want you to get hurt," she calls to the person she sees out of the corner of her eye. She turns toward them briefly, eyeing them as she nods her head to reiterate what she'd said. "Did you not hear me? You'll get yourself killed - or worse, you'll get me killed trying to save you."
ATTENTION: We are sad to announce that we have been infiltrated as of last night. We don't know who is behind this master plan but we suspect RAIDERS could be the cause. THIS MEANS WE HAVE BEEN LOCATED BY OUTSIDERS AND WE ARE NOT SAFE AS OF RIGHT NOW. The news about Jackson will spread to other groups and we can confidently say that it will most likely happen again... but worse. We need to be more careful. We will have to start over again. Please make a checklist of what you're missing and report it back to The Council's dropbox and we will figure out the next step from there. In the mean time, we are on LOCK DOWN until further notice. However, The Council will enlist FORAGERS to go out and look for more items once we get a count on what we need.
------------------------------------------
The FARMERS have no more crops, they will have to replant. this makes things harder for the cold months as they've been preparing for it.
The BAR/BARTENDERS are low on liquor and the bar's windows were smashed in. The inside is destroyed.
GUNSMITHS have had many weapons stolen apart from the ones they put on lockdown and concealed for emergencies.
TEACHERS your school has been vandalized.
DOCTORS/NURSES they have stolen medicines and pills more than any vandalizing.
BUTCHERS they have stolen your latest catch, figure out what to give the cooks. we need to eat.
RP NOTES: Raiders came last night and wrecked the town and stole, probably vandalized and destroyed your homes. So here's how you'll participate and hopefully it'll answer some questions;
YOU WRITE YOUR THREADS as if it's happening in real time. as if your character was woken up by hearing a disturbance for example. -- they came in the night.
your character can try to stop it during threads but DO NOTE THAT RAIDERS ARE MERCILESS AND SAVAGES, THEY WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO GET WHAT THEY WANT. so it's most likely going to be brutal fights and near death experiences.
your characters were fighting for their lives as they probably broke into homes, write about it. you can write if your character has any minor or major injuries due to the struggles. you can write about as if it IS the next day, and how they're having to rebuild their life from scratch again, how they're looking around the town to help and volunteer, etc.
its fun and wild have fun !! make it up as you go along. -- when starting a new starter for this event, you'll post it with the normal starter tag along with ' jackson;event '
UPDATES FOR THIS EVENT WILL BE ON THE PLOT ARC PAGE AS YOU CAN TELL THE ADMINS WHO GOT INJURED AND OR ANY UPDATES OR DETAILS. YOU CAN FIND THE PAGE [ HERE ] -- note this page is not mobile friendly, you'll have to look at it on a computer.
their town. her town has erupted into chaos over night. the place where she'd always felt the most safe was violated in the night. had she been in her tower, like she always was, maybe she could have warned someone, been able to stop it. she shook her head of her thoughts as she carefully wandered through the streets, staying in the shadows as much as she could. she'd run into those raiders at her home, she took care of them, but not without coming away with bruises on her face and various parts of her body. she didn't care about that right now, she had to see how everyone else was.
as she came upon another figure, she approached them cautiously. when they locked eyes, she put her hands up to show her intentions. "hey, hey, it's just me. i'm sorry, i didn't mean to sneak up on you like that." she apologized, her voice soft. her normal playful demeaner was long gone, it's place was an almost vacant stare and worry plastered on her face. "are you okay? do you need anything?"
Closed Starter: @instinctsqz (Sebastian & Iris )
Place: Graham Household
The night stretched on without disturbance at first. Iris had just groggily woken up on the living room couch, book resting open next to her head. Carried away again, she thought, and now I have to pee. Sitting up, Iris moved her legs off the cushions and put her feet to the floor. Sleepy eyes opened and closed a few times as she felt out her surroundings as best she could. An oil lamp that had been on some time before was no longer, leaving the room bathed in darkness--either Seb or Papa turned it off while she slept. The curtains on the window a few feet away from her fluttered faintly as wind moved through the cracks. Front door close-by locked up nice and tight. A wooden board beneath her creaked as she stood to walk slowly off toward the bathroom. The world in a calm sway before the storm.
When she returned minutes later, that’s when it began, passing by with such swiftness.
There were nearby gunshots, loud and angry shouting with it. Iris had just leaned over to grab the book, but she stopped, immediately retracting her hand and moving backward away from the space. Breathing was steady before it grew faster, sharper with passing moments; posture hunched itself as if to shield from bullets that weren't coming for her. Her sight latched onto the world she couldn’t see beyond those breezy curtains--hidden away in the night, some mystery, some horror, maybe.
“Papa! Somethin’s wrong!” She yelled loudly to her sleeping family, though surely one of them had to have heard the commotion themselves. She moved to the stairs without missing a beat, eyes shifting nervously over the railing and to the entrance across from them as she ascended. No thinking, no waiting, just go.
Pounding footsteps led to a door opening upstairs, closely followed by another, as Iris made it to the top.
Maya scrambles to her feet, having hidden herself away as raiders ransacked her home. As best she tried to stay by Josh's side, they were inevitably separated as they fought off the intruders. She'd taken a tumble down the stairs, in an attempt to flee, separating herself from Josh, causing her to now have to lean on the sides of her home as she slowly walked her way toward the street. The noises had calmed, as morning approached, and she was sure it must be over. At least, she hoped it was now over.
She was desperate to see anyone she knew, wondering just how many of her loved ones had been hurt through the night. Constantly wishing there would have been more she could do to help. One thought led to another, rapidly, as she tries her best to remain standing. She looks out onto the empty streets, making her way to her porch steps where she leans to catch her breath. She quickly pulls on her pant leg to inspect her injury, swollen, red and blue. Just as she expected. And she was sure she wouldn't have a remedy left for this, or for anyone else, by now.
