Jo stood behind a post outside the bar, gun aimed and actively attempting to slow the raiders. It was evident that a lot of her was enjoying this, not the town being torn apart and it's citizens - a lot of them her friends - being ransacked. But the call to action, she reveled in it. "Hold back, I don't want you to get hurt," she calls to the person she sees out of the corner of her eye. She turns toward them briefly, eyeing them as she nods her head to reiterate what she'd said. "Did you not hear me? You'll get yourself killed - or worse, you'll get me killed trying to save you."
My favorite part of God’s Not Dead is when the two protagonists watch a man get mowed down by a brutal hit-and-run and he drowns to death – in his own blood – and they just look at each other and are like, “Damn…this was a great night.”
PW Revolver is my favorite indie show. If you ever get the chance to go to one I can’t recommend them enough. I got to see one of my long time favorite wrestlers Lince Dorado (iykyk) and some amazing wrestlers like Deanna Purrazzo, Trey Miguel, and Shane Strickland and Athena (Ember Moon). I wanted to take so many more pictures but unfortunately the spotlights did not play well with my phone’s setting and I honestly just enjoy being in the moment.
The academy had done a bang-up job teaching recruits how to handle a gun, how to fire it, how to at least get on target fifty percent of the time. And Penni had done her part in shooting exercises and aiming at paper targets. They were never real people. That was the difference, albeit her hands still shook no matter what she was aiming at.
Brooks had seen Elis leave for war, and noticed the change in him when he came back. She hadn’t ever needed to ask what he did. War was straightforward. Back then, all the wildflowers and weeds she picked for him and his office weren’t enough. And she had no choice but to get used to it; he had always been reserved, but maybe it just felt worse knowing one of the reasons why. Though specifics were never shared.
It was just plain rude to ask him to help her. She was totally aware of it, but after the phone call she had paid him ( being one of the few people whose numbers she could remember by heart ), she wouldn’t let him get out of it. She had to get help about keeping her eyes open when she pulled the trigger. Men dressed all in white to allow her to view whether she had hit them or not.
“So, when do you know to shoot?” The officer questioned, sitting on a log not too far from Elis’s own home. She had met him there, not intending to be practicing shooting today. But they were out back regardless. A scratch snaked on her cheek, another on the right palm that tried to catch her when she’d taken a tumble off of her bike. She hadn’t shared a word with anybody about the homeless man, or the fact that she didn’t have a bike anymore. Just took a fall was all, even when she had walked to Elis’s home. Funny that no one asked more, always having been a bad liar. The best lies did tend to be truths, however.
He has hunted down his prey; Fueled by one’s pain and suffering from the loss of his family motivated him to seek vengeance. From what he was told there was only one man that held “responsibility” for such a tragedy. The Lin Kuei assassin known only as ‘Sub-Zero’. Scorpion has gotten word of the Lin Kuei’s participation at the Mortal Kombat Tournament hence he was more than willing to compete on behave of the Netherrealm. After Liu Kang have defeated Goro and faces Shang Tsung in combat, Scorpion has the opportunity to make his move to kill Sub-Zero. It wouldn’t take long for the spectre to pick up his trail which leads him to ‘The Pit’
With Scorpion standing from behind at a short distance behind the assassin on the walkway, he made his presence known to the cryomancer by tossing his spear towards him as the first move, with Sub-Zero dodging the weapon and the two begin to battle.
The two have fought fiercely, but in the end, it was Scorpion who has the upper hand on Sub-Zero. The spectre has successfully pierced through Sub-Zero’s chest with his kunai-in-chains and pulls him back to deliver a uppercut knocking him several feet away. Sub-Zero slowly gets back on his feet, battered, cut, bruised, bloodied, and disoriented, was soon met the furious, vengeful, hate fueled white cataracted eyes of the undead ninja.
Scorpion now clutching his fists and soon coated in hell-fire, looked towards his family’s “murderer” with furious anger and hatred. “For my wife. My son. And for the Shirai Ryu!” He screamed before he uppercuts the Lin Kuei down into the spikes at the bottom of the pit.
Sub-Zero was soon impaled with one spike piercing through the stomach and the other through the skull with his right eye ball sticking out at the very tip of the spike. The landing has made him a bloodied, skewed mess, killing him instantly.
Scorpion lay eyes on the corpse for one last look of his adversary and soon letting out a victory cry towards the night sky before he teleports back to the Netherrealm. Finally avenging one’s family and clan, Scorpion can now rest in peace. (Or will he???)
