@jacksonoflucifer, continued from here.
Jack was way to young to know the difference between future and past Castiel. All he knew was that they were both his fathers in a way. It was a chance for the young Nephilim to actually grow up and be a child, without the war that was happening in the future.
He smiled proudly as he ruffled his hair. When the angel ruffled up his hair, he scrunched up his nose and giggled. “You are funny daddy.” he said happily jumping onto the older angel, giving him a giant hug.
Though Castiel was unaware of it, the nephilim had blocked out Naomi’s control of him by mere presence alone. That had done a world of good, for many reasons over; Naomi no longer controlled the last seraph. Which left him at least marginally free to raise a child, even if said child was not of his own grace.
It also threw a monkey wrench into her plans, mercifully.
There was plenty to worry about; he did know who the boy’s actual metaphysical parent was -- and had no idea how Lucifer managed to escape again to even create offspring -- but the risks were manageable enough, with due care. The moment Jack had landed on him, it became Castiel’s main purpose in life: Protect the boy, try to raise him, keep all enemies at bay in the meantime.
For the moment, none of what was outside mattered. A smile cut across his mouth as Jack hugged him; he just hugged the boy back, a little awkward yet with physicality, but quickly learning. “Well, I don’t know about funny, but as long as you find me so, I won’t complain. Are you hungry yet? I know you hate vegetables, but you need them, and if you eat them, I have cake for after.”
