Morning Dress

A round dress of thick jaconot muslin: the bottom of the skirt is richly worked in points; they are surmounted by a broad easing, which is drawn by blue ribbon; several rows of cord are placed above this easing. Chemisette body; the waist is longer than usual: the collar is of a new description; it is composed of muslin laid on full over ribbon, and edged all round with rich work. Long sleeve, tastefully ornamented at the wrist, to correspond.

The apron worn with this dress is composed of the same material; it is rather more than a three-quarter length, and is trimmed round with rich work. A brace is attached to the back part of this apron, which forms at once an epaulette and a low back to the dress: it is advantageous to the shape, and has a very tasteful effect; it is composed entirely of rich work. Head-dress, a cornette, or rather we should say a half cornette, composed of white lace: it is of a moderate height, and has very small ears, which do not meet under the chin, where it is tied with blue ribbon; it is ornamented only with a simple bow of ribbon to correspond, which is placed on one side of the caul. Blue kid shoes.

Garden Costume

Pelisse of Pomona-green gros de Naples, open in front, and lined with pale pink sarsnet: plain collar, sloped off from the front, stiffened, and half turned, so as to display the pink lining and the neat embroidered frill round the throat: the corsage full, and of such a length as to shew an elegant shape to advantage: the sleeve large, and confined above the wrist by a band and small oval buckle, and secndly, by a broad gold bracelet: straight cuff, slit as far as the wrist: corded band round the waist, fastened by a gold buckle on the right side.

Plain jaconot muslin high dress: the corsage made to fit, and elegantly worked: the skirt scolloped at the edge, and ornamented with three deep tucks, and insertion-work between. Hair in graceful ringlets à la Vandyke, partly covered by a beautifully embroidered lace veil. Necklace of red cornelian, worn outside the pelisse; ear-rings to correspond. Lemon-colour gloves; purplye morocco shoes; rose-colour parasol, lined with white, and an antique wreath round the edge.

Walking Dress

A high dress, of short walking length, made of French cambric or jaconot muslin, trimmed at the feet with treble flounces of French work, gathered into a rich bead-heading, and laid upon the dress, at a suitable distance, one above the other; the body made with open fronts, worn with a full ruff of the French work, corresponding to the trimming at the feet; a long sleeve, drawn alternately across the arm, terminates with a broad wristband, worn plain over the hand. French bonnet of white satin, edged and tied under the chin with satin ribbon of celestial blue; ornamented with a rich plume of white feathers, edged to correspond. French mantle of the twilled silk en suite, richly embroidered at the ends in shaded silks, composing roses or lilies of the valley. Patent silk stockings. Slippers, or half-boots, of blue kid, or primrose colour. Gloves to correspond.
