It only looks like chaos until you understand the pattern.
I agree with people finding his arrival kinda sus, but I hope he's not one of the bad ones :c
also his low-key bisexual ass is so funny
Jim: *exists
Me:
Jade: goes around creating havoc and offending everyone
Me:
Jade is an actual genuis (hot) and done with everyone’s bullshit (hot) and knows not to waste his time with unproductive, illogical, emotional conflict/people (hot) and holds thought experiments to gain new perspectives to concepts he’s trying to figure out (hot)
“You’ll learn that any meeting with more than three people is a waste of time” <- talking to a kid
“Nature has a design. If we can find out the pattern, we can find out the design.” <- talking to an apparition of a dead man
“For fuck’s sake!” <- talking to an idiot
“It’s obvious” <- talking to Victor’s dad that duh Victor isn’t going to be the little boy you once knew.
“If there’s something you want us to figure out, you’re gonna have to do a little better, you hear me? Message is not fucking received!” <- shouting at the sky in frustration towards the creepy children
Jade we wouldn’t ever get married, but we’d be fucking (mentally and physically) for sure.
Any thoughts about new season of from? Which characters you like and which not. Who do you think will die first in next episodes? What do you liked the most in s4e01?
Oh, I love From so much. It’s a series that constantly frustrates me, but at the same time you just can’t stop watching it. I think the first episode is solid, it kind of grounds us in what the dynamics are going to be from now on.
For characters… I’m a huge fan of Donna. I love Donna. Like, there are characters where I’m like, if they die, I’m going into mourning. My favorite character is Victor. Victor is my son. Victor is someone I would physically fight someone over. I would genuinely throw hands for Victor, because he needs to be protected. He’s someone who’s suffered so much, a deeply traumatized and autistic person who’s survived by enduring misery for years all alone. And please, I need Victor not to die, because if he dies I’m going to have a really hard time. I’ll get so mad I might even have to stop watching the show for a while, that’s the kind of thing that happens to me.
I also really like Julie. She’s a character a lot of people hate, but I like her a lot because in the first two seasons she’s pretty unbearable and I think she has every right to be, because she’s a teenager and teenagers are super annoying. So when a teenager in a show is annoying, I actually like it because it feels realistic. That whole “mature teenager who takes responsibility and accepts everything” trope feels like bullshit to me, because that’s not how teenagers are. Last season she already started to change in a really interesting way, and I’m very curious to see where this whole time-jumping thing goes. I think it could add a lot, and her storyline really interests me right now.
I also really like Tabitha, and I love Jade, he’s always been one of my faves, though maybe not in my top 3, but I adore him. And then there’s Fatima. I wouldn’t say she’s one of my favorites, but she’s going through absolute hell and doesn’t deserve it because she’s a great person. Like, can they just leave her alone for once? They literally got her pregnant with some kind of demon baby, and she’s obviously traumatized for life after everything, like eating garbage last season… it’s a lot.
As for characters I don’t like… I cannot stand Acosta. Honestly, she’s the only one where I’m like, please just kill her already, I can’t take her anymore. She goes way too far with Boyd. I know Boyd isn’t perfect —not even close— but come on, he’s the one who’s kept that town going. He’s a guy carrying the lives of 50 people on his back, without owing them anything, and he’s always thinking about the community. Yeah, he messes up sometimes, makes bad calls, isn’t always the best person, but I’d like to see most people in his situation. So yeah… Acosta can go.
Also, I forgot to mention Sara. I really like her too. I care about her a lot. I’d put her in that group with Tabitha and Jade.
Who else do I dislike? Honestly, aside from Acosta, no one really bothers me that much right now. I mean, Jim is dead (though I feel like he might still show up somehow), but he was the one who annoyed me the most. He was so unbearable, Victor and Jade were honestly better at parenting his own kids than he was. Literally. Two random people in his kids’ lives did a better job caring about them than their own father. Even Randall has done more as a parent than him. And one was a fucking childhood-stunned autist and the other a drunker lmao And on top of that, he talked badly to everyone. Ugh, just your average straight white guy stereotype, honestly. But hey, they killed him off, so… fine.
As for what I expect from this third season: I hope they start revealing more answers. They’ve already begun, but I need more. I’m really intrigued by the man in the yellow suit and I have so many questions: We know everything is cyclical, and according to him, the story repeats over and over and always ends the same way: everyone either massacres each other or the entity wipes them out. But I have so many doubts. For example: are Tabitha and Jade the only “important” ones because they’re reincarnations of the original parents who sacrificed their children? Or were there more key figures back then? And are the current townspeople also reincarnations? Because Boyd and Donna are incredibly important, are they really just random? I’d love to know if it’s like Lost, where everyone was connected somehow, maybe even through past lives, and that’s why they end up in the town.
I’m also super curious about Julie’s time-jumping. If the story keeps repeating, has there been someone before her who could do the same thing? The man in yellow says she can’t change a story that’s already been written—and that he’s told her that before—so clearly there’s some kind of time loop thing going on. But is she the first, or just another iteration? And then there’s the entity itself. If it knows everything like, the man in yellow seems almost like a temporal being, since he’s seen Julie at different points in time, then why did it let Victor live? Has there been a “Victor” before, someone who survived from one cycle into the next as a kind of bridge? Or is he the first? And if he is, why him?
Same with Tabitha being able to leave, maybe the Boy in White is some kind of opposing force, a “good” entity fighting the bad one, and that’s why she could get out. But then how was she able to bring Victor’s father back? I have so many questions. I just need answers. I can’t live like this. I hope at least some of these things get resolved this season. And please, don’t kill Victor. Or Donna. Kill Acosta, I don’t care.
Honestly, From gives me so many questions and so much anxiety, but I love it because it lets you theorize so much, and I love theorizing. It makes me think, it makes me question things, that’s what I enjoy. I adore this show. And when it finally ends, when they release season 5, which is supposed to be the final season, thank God it’ll actually have an ending, because I was genuinely worried it wouldn’t, I think I’ll rewatch the whole thing from the beginning.
Do you need to experience twink death in the time frame of about a month to a month and a half?
Well do I have the trick for you! Become a tech bro, wander into a mysterious pocket dimension / hellhole town with your best friend, convince yourself that it's all a fun escape room thing, be unconvinced after your best friend dies. And then over the span of the next few weeks watch other Town folks die via unkillable nightmare hell monsters.
Find out that you actually been reincarnated several times over, and so has the wife of the family you've befriended—don't get any weird mixed feelings about that—and you're done!
Twink death!
