Please tell me about the years you spent in Ilvermorny. Did you enjoy it? Who were your friends? What was your favorite class? Did you like (or even play) quidditch? (Or there is a different sport, than in the UK?) Did you fall in love with someone? When and why did you decide, that you would like to be an auror? Sorry for the many questions, but I really would like to know more about your school years!

That is a lot of questions but I’ll oblige. 

My time at Ilvermorny was interesting. I did enjoy it although I did not have many friends in the same year as me. 

In my first year I made friends with Seraphina Picquery who was in her 4th year, she was my only friend for a while until I met Jade Oldham. We met in charms which was my favourite class and yes, I fell in love with her and later married her. 

We didn’t play quidditch at Ilvermorny, instead we played Quodpot which in my opinion is more exciting. 

I decided that I would like to be an auror in my 6th year when I was offered a fast track to the auror program once I had finished my final exams. I was hesitant at first but Jade convinced me to go for it as my skills were well suited to the position. I am very glad that she did as I do love my job.

Patronus - Part 1

“Come on Percy! You mustn’t be thinking of a happy enough thought!” Jade exclaimed, sitting on the desk in the abandoned classroom they often visited at night to practice. Her legs were swinging as she watched a thoroughly frustrated Percival Graves standing in the middle of the space they had cleared, wand raised as a small puff of blue smoke appeared. 

“I am. I can’t think of something happier than going camping with Grandpa.” He sighed, walking over to sit beside her, dejected. He found an arm being thrown over his shoulders and he couldn’t help the soft smile. “You know, it doesn’t have to be one memory. It can be multiple. As long as the combined effect is happiness then it doesn’t matter.” 

Now that was new, he hadn’t read that in a book anywhere, he had always been told he had to think of one happy memory. “Really?” He asked, still dubious as he looked at Jade. 

“Of course!” She exclaimed, getting up to stand in the middle of the room. “For example, I’m thinking about my parents and how happy they were when I got my letter to Ilvermorny, the first time I managed to play a Chopin waltz and...well when I met you.” Jade smiled and looked at Percival before casting the charm, the exultant “Expecto Patronum” filled with joy as a swan flew out of the end of her wand, flying around the room before settling on the desks, moving along them as if they were water. 

Percival chuckled. “Ok.” He said, rolling up his sleeves before walking across the room to stand beside her. “More than one happy thought....ok.” He held up his wand, adopting the theoretically correct stance before thinking. “Camping with my Grandpa, sitting in the back garden with my mother, growing flowers with magic and well...meeting you.” He said, smiling at Jade before casting the spell himself. “EXPECTO PATRONUM” He called out, wondering how he hadn’t woken the whole castle with it. 

The scorpion that the spell produced was not a surprise. He had always had a fondness for the creatures, and it’s appearance made him smile, especially as it scuttled over to join Jade’s swan. 

Suddenly he was being hugged and he wasn’t quite sure what to do about it other than to turn and hug Jade back. 

“Thank you.” She said as she pulled away, looking up at him slightly. 

“For what?” He questioned, smiling down at her. 

“For me being one of your happy memories.” 

Percival beamed a little. “You’ll always be one of my happy memories Jade.”

Dance

It was a bright night, the stars shining over the party that frankly, Percival Graves did not want to be at. The punishment for belonging to a prestigious family. His only relief was that Jade was at his side, the red and gold dress she had worn for the occasion so stunning he had been silenced.

“Come on my love, you can’t just stand here all day, it is a party, a dance!” Jade said, tugging on his arm a little as she looked up at him, pulling him with her eyes as well as her hands.

He couldn’t help the small smirk that crossed his lips. “You know I can’t dance Jade.” He said, patting her hand lightly with his as he shook his head, “Find your brother, I’m sure he’ll dance with you.” He looked around the crowd, trying to look for the same shade of red as Jade’s hair.

Percival felt a tug on his arm again “You know I won’t take no for an answer. I want to dance with you.” She said, leaning into him, “Please Percy.” She added and he knew there was no way of getting out of this.

“Fine but only if we stay to the side.”

A short kiss was planted on his lips and then he was being dragged to the middle of the dance floor as his fiancée sang the words “No chance”

He found himself being pulled into a waltz and he moved with the music, at least managing to stay on time as they moved, dancing. Jade laughed into his shoulder. “You can dance! It’s a Christmas miracle.” She said, letting Percival lift her off the ground, spinning around. 

This time he couldn’t help the grin. “You’re doing most of it.” He said, knowing it was partially a lie but fully aware he couldn’t dance like this with anyone else. The music helped but feeling the way Jade moved helped him almost instinctively move in a complimentary way that felt like it could be dancing. He found himself closing his eyes to try and drown out their surroundings so he could focus solely on Jade, letting the moment take him slightly. 

The moment ended with Jade’s lips on his and he pulled back, smiling at her, eyes now open, taking in everything about her as the song concluded. 

There was a tap on his shoulder and the second moment ended, much more abruptly. He turned to see Samuel, Jade’s older brother. “May I?” The taller man asked and he nodded, gladly moving aside. 

“Until Later.” He said, smiling at Jade.

“Until Later” came the promise of her response,
