Jadekat Tshirt Design

I entered the tshirt design contest, so I decided to spare a design for my OTP, and made a simple text tshirt with the now infamous line

"If I hate myself so much, why don't I hate-marry myself"

Karkat is by default the warmest troll on the spectrum; his unique blood radiates heat through his skin that Jade revels in on the colder days.

Jade, as a half-dog hybrid, radiates her own warmth; Karkat drapes her large fluffy fox-like tail over his lap and buries his hands in the downy fur.

"Karkat scratch my ears."  She thumps her tail in anticipation.

"AGH STOP YOUR TAIL IS LETTING ALL THE COLD AIR IN!!"

"Into what?  Your lap?"  She snorts out a laugh as he attacks her ear with aggressive scratching.  The snowy-white protrusion flicks and turns as she melts back into him with a luxurious sigh.

He alternates between ears, scritching and ruffling until he feels the couch vibrate.

"The fuck is that—"  He starts as he cranes his head to find the origin and sees Jade’s leg spasming.

"Are you—"

"Shut up, this feels really good okay??"

"Are you kicking your le—"

"KARKAT SHUT UP OR YOU’RE IN THE DOG HOUSE!"

Karkat laughs out loud because yes, there is a literal dog house in their home, and it’s what Jade erected as a no fuckass fort she now uses to put him in on time-outs.

i never thought i'd ship this before but after writing fanfiction i think i've *wipes tears from eyes* i've seen the light guys

but yeah they seem like the kind of couple that's always fighting?? but they actually care about each other a lot. it'd be hard for one of them to get their feelings across because the other would be scared that they were joking or trying to mock them?? the one thing i think they'd have to conquer in their relationship is communication!! karkat has trouble telling people how he really feels and jade's lived on an island alone for a really long time and only talks to people online. but once they got over that they'd be very connected and they'd be able to sense when the other was sad or needing comforting or uncomfortable in a situation i think. 

jade would provide an outlet of release and fun energy for karkat and be able to calm him down and help him relax when he needed it and also help him be able to get his words across better and for jade karkat would try his best to take care of her and be there for her and also encourage her to do things she was otherwise scared to try. yeah, i think they'd be good together!!
