Dessange Oleo Miracle

I am JUST about finished (seriously, like probably tomorrow) my Dessange Oleo Miracle shampoo and conditioner I received from Influenster for testing purposes.  But the goo news is I have plenty of Oleo Miracle Replenishing Oil left because I literally only needed a drop to get the desired result!  At first I was a bit skeptical.  All the oil in the shampoo and conditioner (and obviously replenishing oil) was going to just make my hair greasier faster, right?  So I would have to start washing my hair twice a day which would negate the effects of the new products anyway.  But that was not so!  It turns out, save for one time i was in a rush and didn’t rinse my hair thoroughly, not only did my hair NOT get greasier fast, I found it seemed to get greasier slower.  This is great because I hate stripping my hair of its natural oils.  But the best part?  After lightening my hair in January of 2014 I have struggled with damaged hair.  I have bought multiple hair masques and leave in conditioners, and shelled out extra for my favorite, more expensive products.  Most of them would work for a day or two after using them, (as most were a once a week kind of product), however for the first time since then I have found my hair is consistently healthier and less “crunchy” as I like to put it.  I will most likely be purchasing from this line next time I need new product.  I am still a bit hesitant simply because I LOVE the smell of aveda products, but the fragrance in Dessange is pretty great too, and I just can’t fight these positive results.  I am really thankful to Dessange and Influenster for helping me discover this line of products!

I actually really liked them. The smell is lovely and after using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair felt soft, smooth, and was easy to brush through. However, they do contain sulfates. I’m sulfate free (sensitive skin & scalp!), so I wouldn’t continue to use them, but for people who aren’t, I recommend trying Dessange if you’re looking for something new. My mom is obsessed with all three products and plans to buy them herself!

Jadore Dessange Paris

I received an Influenster VoxBox several weeks ago. Inside contained the Dessange Paris Oleo Miracle Replenishing Shampoo and Conditioner for over processed and damaged hair as well as the Replenishing Oil. This complimentary product from Influenster allowed me to test out this great new product for free. Originally after my first use I was not a fan. As a hairdresser I am biased about certain products that I already use and love. Though, I love to try new products. The great thing was this product did not have harmful ingredients and that made me more inclined to try. However, my first result was not as I had hoped. I read the potential results that I should expect on the bottles but did not receive after one use. The claim gives you hair that it "gives over processed and damaged hair back to vitality with shine" and will also "nourish your overprocessed and damaged hair all the way". It does instruct after shampooing and conditioning to use the oil after for best results. Which I did processed as instructed. During the shampoo process I did like that I had a great lather and felt as if the shampoo was truly cleansing my scalp. It also made my hair feel very dry and stripped of moisture. Though as I applied the conditioner I felt like my hair wasn't being given the correct amount of moisture back into my hair to rejuvenate it. I used the normal amount of shampoo and conditioner I always use when washing. Afterwards I towel dried my hair and applied the oil. I felt like my hair was such a rat's nest. It took me quite some time to pick through my hair. It felt so very dry and it was as if I hadn't used any conditioner or oil at all. I proceeded to let my hair air dry. I didn't want to add any heat element (hair dryer or flat iron) because I was afraid it could potentially strip my hair of its integrity. After air drying I did not find my hair to look as if shine had been restored. In fact my hair felt straw like and as if the system had opposite results of what the label promised. However, I know some systems need to be used multiple times before achieving results. Over the past several weeks I have washed my hair with the same system. I typically wash my hair twice a week. My hair is naturally curly/wavy, and I don't tend to produce a lot of oil at my scalp, so it isn't necessary for me to wash more frequently. I noticed after about the 3-4th wash that my hair felt less straw like and I did feel that my hair had began to restore shine. Which the shine did last a couple days. I didn't use much other products. The only other product that I use on a regular basis was my It's a 10, because the replenishing oil is not a protectant and it doesn't provide the essential elements that your hair needs. Keep in mind that the It's a 10 did not alter the effects of the hair washing system, it was only used to protect my hair from heat element damage as well as retaining the restoration of my hair. I do feel after using this system now for several weeks that I do notice my hair has more shine and feels to have strengthened my hair. As a frequent color client, having breakage is normal and expected. I have had less breakage. Though, one thing I do not like is that I have noticed, since washing my hair with this product I have had more hair falling out when I brush and when I wash. I don't typically shed too much and this product has had my hair shedding way more frequent. I'm unsure of why I am having this result but I don't like losing hair. Recommendation: the oil seems to give you the shine. I went a few washes Inbetween and did not use the oil to see if there was a difference. There definitely was. Without the oil you will not get the same result. I feel the oil is like the rebonding part of the system. You won't be able to seal the ends of your cuticle and give that glossed look. Though too much of it and you will look "greasy" so be careful. Use a minimal amount, typically a dime size for your whole head. Do I feel the shampoo and conditioner are worth trying and using in replace to your current system? To be honest, I have used many professional products that can offer and prove to produce way more benefits. I will not be continuing to use this. I actually am not going to return to my previous product system that has been giving me better and more efficient and effective results. I do feel for someone who may be looking for a product that they want to buy at a local store such as Target, but cannot get to a salon, this may be a good try for you. Make sure you get the oil too for best results.

Dessange Review

So, for the last month or so I have been testing out the Jadore Dessange Oleo Miracle Replenishing line. Here are some of my thoughts.

The shampoo smells atrocious. Okay, maybe not that bad, but it smells really strongly of cinnamon and other spices that reminds me of a bad thanksgiving dinner.

Luckily, when rinsed out, you don’t really smell it, so at least the smell doesn't linger. It is a little thicker than what I am used to, but overall the texture is nice, and goes really well on my scalp. My hair feels really clean after wards and I quite like it.

The conditioner I usually leave in my hair for a minute or two while I shave or wash my face/body. It doesn't say you have to, but I like to leave it in. The smell isn't nearly as off putting as the shampoo, and the texture is nice. When rinsing it out, though, my hair isn't nearly as dry as I would normally find my hair to be. It is easier to comb and I quite enjoy the feeling.

Now, the oil, the oil I can talk about all day. I love this stuff. I was never a big hair oil person before this, but Influenster sent me these three products for free, so why not, right? It makes my hair feel amazing. Really smooth, really shiny and soft, and I love just touching my hair.

Overall I don’t think I would purchase the shampoo again, maybe the conditioner, but that oil I will have at all times, it was wonderful.

A Little About Dessange Paris

So I received a few hair care products from Influenster for free to review and test out a few weeks ago. I promise that everything is my true opinion.

 I received a shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil from the Dessange Paris Oleo Miracle Collection line. The first thing I noticed was the smell. These babies smell so good! It’s like heaven. The second thing I noticed was how soft my hair felt after the first use. I dye my hair a lot so it can be pretty rough making it feel super silky, but these products do the job. The conditioner and the hair oil are life savers. I’m not the only one who noticed a difference. I used the conditioner on my god daughter, who is six. Her first response was the same as mine. “This smells so good!” I laughed in agreement. When we washed the conditioner out, she kept feeling her hair. It was so soft. It really helped me get the knots out her hair so quickly too. I was more then happy, because she's so tender-headed. She didn't even make a peep. I added a little of the oil to my palms and ran it through the ends of her curls for a little pampering.

Overall, I'm so happy with this line of hair care. I will definitely be stopping by target when i run out. This stuff is a miracle for those who have problems with tangly hair or super curly hair. If your hair is dull and dry, then try this out. I promise that it will help, even after one use.

Dessange Oleo Miracle Collection

As a whole, I think the collection is great! It nourishes my hair and gives it a nice shine! I noticed that my hair felt and looked healthier instantly. Even my cousin noticed after the first wash!  The shampoo, conditioner, and oil all have the same cheap perfume smell. The scent is strong but it fades as time goes by. Because this collection is all about nourishing the hair and my hair does not need too much of it, my scalp gets oily quicker. This is fine by me since I wash my hair every day. Out of the entire collection, my favorite is the shampoo. The shampoo lathers very well so a little goes a long way. Not only does it nourishes my hair, it removes the buildup and leftover hair products. The conditioner is okay, I felt that it did nothing special to my hair. Yes, it gave me shine and softness, but that’s what all conditioners do! The oil is awesome! Like the shampoo, a little goes a long way! I only need a pea size amount to give my hair the ultimate shine. I love how the oil does not weigh down my hair and does not make it look greasy. Overall, I definitely recommend the Dessange Oleo Miracle Collection!
