people who hate on lotr ships confuse me. you can argue that okay Tolkien never explicitly made sam & frodo a couple however you can’t say for sure that Tolkien would’ve been against it (+ the writing comes down to the readers own interpretation). Honestly, I think he’d be more annoyed by the removal of Tom Bombadil than fans shipping characters.

if you read Tolkien’s work and didn’t come away with the view to love always in all situations and accept everyone for their differences then you didnt read Tolkien’s work right. 

also Sean Astin, Samwise Gamgee himself, said that Sam and Frodo should’ve kissed and followed that up with a good ‘ol ‘how do we know they didn’t?’

so i was at this store and i hear this giggly little girl behind me, she was just the cutest thing. so her dad lets her get this oversized fluffy lavender sheep squishy.

and so of course she's all excited and she's like "YAY ITS SO CUTE but daddy, i don't know what kind of animal it is".
