It was another day for the 7 bright members of Rainbow. They were busy attending the events in their schedules which included a photoshoot and a short interview. Normally, everyone would be pumped and ready to go but most of them were falling asleep while getting their hair done. But there was one member who was still full of energy.
Yoonhye sat quietly by herself, unable to pull any pranks or chat with her fellow members. Last time she had checked on them, Jisook and Woori were in the middle of getting their hair done. They were definitely in no mood to talk. Woori had her earbuds in and Jisook was struggling to keep her eyes open.
Seung A and No Eul were getting fitted for their photoshoot outfits and it seemed like they were both lost in their own little worlds. Yoonhye often wondered what was going on between them. Even if the couple tried to hide it, they would almost always show a certain preference towards each other. Yoonhye couldn't help but feel a little jealousy. Of course she was happy for them, but she often wished she could meet her special someone.
But it seemed the person she yearned for was completely unavailable. Perhaps they were already taken. Yoonhye could never tell, but it wasn't something she thought of often. She continued her search and found the youngest member of the group. As she went to speak she noticed the maknae's eyes were closed and she was snoring lightly. She was completely dressed and had her hair done. Making sure that she was sitting upright, Yoonhye wrapped a blanket around the girl's torso and left her alone to sleep. They would wake her up when it was time for the photoshoot.
Unable to find her leader, Yoonhye took a seat, waiting to be called to get fitted and get her hair done. She picked up her camera and began to take pictures. But she only took a few before setting the camera down. She needed someone to take a picture with. She looked down at the camera dejectedly and put her head down against the desk.
Only a few minutes passed until she felt a light poke on her shoulders. She looked up and was face to face with Rainbow's leader. She seemed to be half ready, with clips holding up various parts of her hair. She was wearing regular slippers instead of the red high heels she was supposed to be wearing.
"Jaekyung unnie why aren't you getting ready? You are the first one that needs to take photos. You will be late."
Jaekyung grinned and took a seat next to the younger girl.
"Ah, I needed a break. Everyone is so moody and sleepy right now. I just needed a quick escape. Don't tell on me."
Jaekyung put her fingers to her lips in an attempt to keep the big eyed girl quiet. Yoonhye quietly giggled and put her own finger up to her lips.
"I won't tell a soul.....even though we are out in the open and anyone can see you sitting here with me."
Jaekyung chuckled and stretched her arms high up into the air. The action caused her dress to pull up slight and expose her thighs.
"Well this will buy me a couple of minutes at least."
A small blush crept up to Yoonhye's cheek and she turned away and looked at the camera before her. She fiddled with it, trying to distract herself from the girl next to her. She then felt a hand cover her own and the leader moved closer to her. She was so close that she could feel the older girl's breath against her ear. A chill ran down Yoonhye's spine and her blush deepened. She looked at Jaekyung from the corner of her eye and could see that the leader had a slight smirk on her face.
"Were you taking pictures?"
Yoonhye nodded, quietly shifting around in her seat.
"Let's take pictures together."
Jaekyung enthusiastically took the camera from the younger girl and wrapped an arm around her waist. Yoonhye's heart beat quickened and she let out a small gasp. She heard a quiet giggle and her blush deepened even more.
"You're so cute sometimes."
Shocked, Yoonhye turned to the older girl next to her. Jaekyung was smiling, eyes full of sincerity.
"Of course. Now stop blushing so much so we can take this picture. I don't want the girls making fun of you later on if you come out all derpy."
Yoonhye patted her cheeks to try and get rid of the color. She took a deep breath and posed with her leader. They made funny faces at the camera and when they were done, they chose the best ones and erased the rest.
"Ah, you'll need to send me those later, ok? I really liked the..."
"Kim Jaekyung, get your ass back here. You need to finish getting ready."
Jisook stood a few feet away, hands on her hips and looking slightly angry. Jaekyung took a quick look at her and looked back at Yoonhye, a slight sign of fright evident on her features.
"Ok, ok, give me a second."
Jaekyung quickly shot up in her seat and was on her feet. Before she left however, she turned back to the amused girl next to her. She cupped one of her cheeks and that same sincere smile popped up on her face.
"We'll take more pictures later, ok?"
Yoonhye nodded as the leader made her way to the fiesty girl loudly tapping her foot against the floor. Yoonhye brought her hand up to her cheek, which still felt warm from her leader's touch.
Jaekyung approached the other girl, who now held her hand out for the older girl to take into hers. But before they left to go into the other room, Jaekyung turned her head and winked at the sitting girl.
The blush returned to Yoonhye's cheeks and she could her the leader's laughter off in the distance. Yoonhye sighed deeply and clutched the camera close to her chest.
"Yoonhye time for you to get fitted!"
No Eul stood at the door and gestured for Yoonhye to follow her. Yoonhye took one last look at her camera before she set it down and followed her friend to go do their job.
Maybe she had a slight chance.
