Three little aesthetics I made about Hades & Persephone
Hades (/ˈheɪdiːz/; Ancient Greek: ᾍδης or Άͅδης, Háidēs) was the ancient Greek chthonic god of the underworld, which eventually took his name.
"In Greek mythology, Hades was regarded as the oldest son of Cronus and Rhea, although the last son regurgitated by his father. He and his brothers Zeus and Poseidon defeated their father's generation of gods, the Titans, and claimed rulership over the cosmos. Hades received the underworld, Zeus the sky, and Poseidon the sea, with the solid earth—long the province of Gaia—available to all three concurrently. Hades was often portrayed with his three-headed guard dog Cerberus."
Hades has always been one of my favorite gods in the greek mythology, I don't know why but the way in wich most people portray him always makes me think that he is misunderstod, he is not evil, his realm isn't just a counterpart of the christian hell, because it has also the counterpart of heaven, he rules them, but he isn't the incarnation of the death. Since Jaejoong is one of my favourite idols, and he seems to like to like the dark aesthetic I choose him for the portray of Hades, unlike most of the representations, Jaejoong is a young man, handsome, but he has a classy and powerful aura around him that makes me like him for that precise twist.
In Greek mythology, Persephone (/pərˈsɛfəni/, per-seh-fə-nee; Greek: Περσεφόνη), also called Kore (/ˈkɔəriː/; "the maiden") or Cora, is the daughter of Zeus and the harvest goddess Demeter, and is the queen of the underworld. Homer describes her as the formidable, venerable majestic princess of the underworld, who carries into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead. Persephone was married to Hades, the god-king of the underworld.
If Hades is my favorite god, Persephone is my favorite goddess, but like Hades, I prefer a rather unconvencional idea of Persephone, rather than the kidnaped handmaiden, I prefer the idea of the willing Persephone, tired of been just a nameless kore she willingly left with Hades to be much more than that. Nana is my ultimate bias, I choose her for Persephone portray, I know that in regular basis people tends to asociate her with Afrodita, but since Persephone it was also a beauty, and Nana’s beauty is more apreciated by international fans than the korean fans I think it was more suitable for a Persephone's portray, also, Nana is always not really understood by koreans, and even sometimes she is hated by them, for her straight forthway way of thinking or xpresing herself, so once again she fits more with a unconventional or less known goddess like Persephone.
