During the Magic At The Beach 2024 convention, one of the sessions was “Tales From The Road” which was reprised from last year, since it was such a success then. Organizer, Charles Bach, gave permission to record and broadcast this session again this year that contains some great “road warrior” stories by some of the top working professionals. I don’t see the SPN-prequel ever happening.
Everything about it was botched. From the premature and deliberately timed ‘announcement’ to the ‘we’ve got nothing’ teaser summary to the painfully awkward ‘fix it’ PR story leaks.
It received a mostly negative response from what should have been the core audience.
Then there’s all the weird rumors about casting (No Jared, but for some reason, daneel?) and the backlash from fans over the entire mess.
It would be nice to see Sam and Dean again sometime in the future but I’ve got no interest in anything other than that. Especially something that starts trying to introduce new characters to original canon. No thanks.
I think the prequel thing was so badly done that they don’t have any choice except to let it sit on the shelf now, if it’s still even considered viable at this point. But that’s just my two cents.
