I made a video essay looking back at two of Lioden controversies I missed while on hiatus: the 2022 marking opacity discovery and the Christmas 2024 Jaglion duplication incident.

I still find it weird that the first/only hybrid cat I have seen irl is the savannaha cat.

I would have expected a Bengal, as they are alot more common, but I ironically still haven't seen a Bengal in real life yet.

The Savannaha cat, a hybrid between the serval and domestic cat, had been at Porfell Wildlife Park, uk back in 2015.

I believe it must have been a pet that was given up to the zoo for being too much too handle. Which I heard used to be a common thing with pet hybrid cats until zoos didn't want to take them in anymore due to a premium on space. Unsurprisingly, a part wild cat is alot to handle as a pet.

I don't think it was purposely bred there, despite them having a serval aswell. They were not housed together either.

I should hopefully see Bengals at the cat show I'm seeing this year!

Technically, if I count taxerdermy and big cats, then my first hybrids were the Jaglion and Pumapard in Tring natural history museum.

I got the zoo mixed up, and the kind people at Zoochat forum helped me narrow down the correct one. I can understand my confusion as both Devon and Cornwall are the west country and the most frequented family holidays of mine in the past. Also, it was 10 yrs ago, and I'm only 25 as it is.

I bought Valentine the Leopon in 2023, had Acadia the Jaglion born with a jag boost last year, and just bought Samara the Tigon!

I love my ladies<3 I'll be doing currency free barked heats for all of them next year!
