TW: murder, death
I really should be studying for my exam tomorrow but the responses on my previous au post encouraged me to talk about another au I had in mind -- one where Alice DIDN'T cast the Unmaking Spell on her own (because it never made sense to me how she could do it when Felix needed other elementals). I actually conceptualised this with a friend in the discord server as well (tagging them as soon as I get their username)!
Here, Alice DID in fact three girls in the forest the same way Felix got the other boys together in that same forest, in that same spot, with the exact same intention -- fix their families. And we know how the story goes for the Nowhere Boys -- they go to a universe where they don't exist, they fight off Alice who is a Restoring Demon and they make it back home. But what about the OTHER group of people who went missing? Basically, an AU where Alice never made it to Negative Space -- her and the girls also end up in a universe where they don't exist.
The names for the OCs haven't been decided yet but here's a general idea of them so far:
1. All the girls are parallels of the boys in their own ways. Alice and Felix parallel each other in obvious ways -- they're both witches, they both love their siblings immensely -- so much so that they'd gather up people they don't like in the woods to cast a spell -- except it doesn't end well. However, we also have other parallels as well!
For example, Andy is a nerd who is frequently dismissed and bullied for his intelligence and his social awkwardnes and overeagerness vs his girl parallel from 13 years ago who is ALSO a nerd, yes, but is the captain of the debate team, student body president, on track to going to an Ivy League, ykw I'm saying?
Jake is a bully jock who's aggressive to hide his insecurities regarding his home life and his poor background and his abandonment issues with his father vs Jake's parallel who is from 13 years ago who, GET THIS, was SARAH'S BEST FRIEND, came from a similar poor background and is super into smoking and bunking classes and is seen as one of those fast girls because she hangs out with the boys and she rlly doesn't care enough to refute them. She only shows her true self to the nowhere girls and Sarah! Sarah even gives her name as Jake's middle name: naming her kid after her best friend! Jake's initially embarrassed to have a girly middle name but he never told his mum because once he joked about it being embarrassingg and she almost cried. When he learns about the history behind it, he's touched that his middle name is named after his mother's best friend and he wears it as a badge of honour. (Can you tell I thought about Jake's parallel the most.)
Sam is a popular kid who's very artistic but can be shallow and superficial, especially in the first season, and is very carefree, even to an extent which can hurt people vs Sam's parallel is a quiet, bullied girl who is also similarly artistic, but is bubbly and energetic when she opens up and has an unconventional style as well!
2. The way the girls die (yes, they die I fear, I apologize) are the same way the boys almost did. Andy jumps in front of a bus because he thought he was in a coma? Similarly, upon finding out that Alice was a witch, Andy's parallel literally jumps in front of the train that was mentioned in s1 and dies that way. Sam gets briefly influenced by Alice in s1 especially when Alice possesses Mia, his girlfriend? His parallel trusted someone who was possessed by the previous Restoring Demon and died that way. Jake gets arrested for stealing? His parallel gets arrested for trying to murder Alice upon finding out that Alice is the reason they're in this mess and dies in prison when the Restoring Demon catches upto her. Only doesn't apply to Alice and Felix because Alice never really died. She became the next Restoring Demon, ready to continue the cycle 13 years later. (imagine if Andy didn't js jump in front of the bus because he's Just Like That, imagine if that was Alice trying to get him to die that way because at that moment, when she saw Andy, all she saw was her friend)
3. Adding onto the point of the girls dying, it's also because of the elemental imbalance and disharmony amongst them all. Jake and Andy were paired up because their elements balanced each other well and same with Sam and Felix. But I'm thinking for the girls, for Alice who is water element and say, Andy's parallel, the very grounded, stubborn head girl and right before she dies, she gets into an argument with Alice about the whole magic thing before she loses her mind and jumps in front of a train!! Because of the disharmony between the elements!! Because water failed to balance Earth here so Earth paid the price!! I have some more ideas of the balance of the elements WITHIN the people as individuals but I'm still fleshing them out!!
4. Imagine the angst potential... I'm thinking for this au the moment Alice becomes a Restoring Demon she kinda falls into a dormant state where she js stays unconscious (?) and only awakens when there is an imbalance in the universes that she must fix. What I'm saying is, for all these 13 years, she was almost in a hibernation state and when she wakes up in 2013, she has no clue that it's that year and she's more disoriented the more she learns about the current situation. For the boys, the girls died thirteen years ago. For Alice died YESTERDAY.
Basically... what if Alice was in a group not too unlike the Nowhere Boys herself thirteen years ago when she cast the Unmaking Spell? What if they went to an alternate universe where they didn't exist just like the boys? And what if they never came back?
Anyways, that's all I have lmao!
Supposed to be studying rn but had a s1 au idea.... what if the unmaking spell used to send the boys back home unmade all their memories of the alternate world?
I talked about it alr with some friends a long while back but I js wanna expand on it a bit.
Imagine we start off with the first episode. It starts off as it normally does until the boys spend the night in the woods. And then there's a glitch. Something's wrong. And before you know it, it's the middle of the afternoon or evening (the boys can hardly even tell with how disoriented they are) and they're standing, all of them are confused. They're even more confused when their fathers and Mr Bates are walking in their direction, then running, then SPRINTING to them, hugging them, crying tears of JOY. Granted, all of them are really happy with the hug (except Andy who has a sinking feeling that he's going to be placed on house arrest...). As they're on their way back home, Mr Bates can tell from the looks on their faces that they're very confused and the more they talk, it's becoming clearer that the boys have NO CLUE about what happened to them. And then:
"Boys... you four have been missing for eleven days."
CUE THE INTRO!
Some ideas on how s1 would go about in this way:
1. They all have to go to the hospital to get themselves checked for any sort of amnesia. The doctor recommends they all spend time together to try and remember what happened. Unsurprisingly, everyone except Andy, is unenthusiastic about this. Andy becomes a wannabe Sherlock Holmes who wants to figure this out whereas everyone else js wants to move on.
2. The press conference is more of a mess than how it canonically did because the boys have NO CLUE WHAT TO SAY.
3. The boys' lives become more hectic when their POWERS show up. It's only when Jake creates the earthquake that they realise this is something serious.
4. Alice is back! And the boys are so confused because wtf why does this demon have beef with us??? What could we possibly have done???
5. Felix is wracked with more guilt because he knows that he cast the spell and he KNOWS something went wrong considering that they went missing for eleven days but WHAT??
6. The theme song is more broken from the beginning with glitches and eerie silences that slowly gets filled up with music and visuals once the boys get their memories back. For example, the possessed dogs don't show up during the intro during the beginning because the boys have no memory of it. Once they DO remember it, then the dogs show up.
7. Oughhhh pre s1 dynamics with post s1 powers... do you see the vision
TLDR: What if Season 1 started AFTER the boys already cast the Unmaking Spell to get back home but the spell unmade their memories of the alternate world?
They know how the story began.
They know how the story ended.
The story itself? Well...
I want to do a clip of the fanfic Tommyinnit wrote and read of him and Tubbo but with Jake and Andy. I’ve been so busy lately so hopefully you guys know what I’m talking about and can see my vision until I eventually have the time to do that along with everything else lol 😭
