IAN- “Oh my Watcher... why am I so weak? What the fuck happened last night, I didn’t drink that much... Jake? Jake are you in here?”

EARLY THE NEXT MORNING
IAN- “Oh my Watcher... why am I so weak? What the fuck happened last night, I didn’t drink that much... Jake? Jake are you in here?”
It was both Jackson and Ian at the door, Seth yelled for Jack to call 911 and for Ian to get a hold of Daniel, as one of the dogs ran out towards the gunman...Seth knew who it was, there was no mistaking that voice. He just kept putting pressure on the wound, hoping the bleeding would stop. The police would catch him, there was no where for him to go, the bay was right there...
The intruder, who Seth knew was Jake took off running towards the bay as Jackson ran back into the house to call 911.
Mark seemed to be coming around, Seth couldn’t tell where the bullet ended up and was just putting pressure on the area he could see, he tried to comfort him as he heard the sirens of the ambulance and the police come into their drive.
SETH- “Stay calm, baby... it’s OK the ambulance is here. Please stay still Mark, don’t move, I am not sure where the bullet went. Just relax, I am here, right here. I love you Mark, it’s going to be okay. It HAS to be okay.
Jake is handcuffed behind his back and led closer to Daniel, who he now recognizes.
JAKE- “Go figure it’s you. You were the detective working with Ian, weren’t you!?”
OFFICER WALSH- “Don’t say anymore, Bowling, you were read your rights, anything you say now at this point can be taken as evidence against you.”
JAKE- “Trust me, I have nothing to say to either of you. Once I get my phone call, my attorney will do my talking.”
DANIEL- “You should listen to Julie, Bowling, this is not going to help your case.”
JAKE- “You know my past, for sure. You were working with Ian and Seth to help take me down. I didn’t rape him, he was the one that jumped my bones, it was consensual, trust me.”
OFFICER WALSH- “You should take my advise Bowling and shut up.”
DANIEL- “Those charges were dropped, but I can guarantee you that that episode will certainly be brought into your trial. Now, shut up like Julie said, and let’s get you behind bars, where you belong.”
JAKE- “Trust me, I won’t be there long. Then I will finish what I started here today.”
OFFICER WALSH- “Okay, we have heard enough, get going, you don’t listen do you? You just incriminated yourself even more. Let’s go.”
DANIEL- “Great job, Julie, thanks for getting this bastard.”
Officer Walsh (Julie) - “All in a days work detective, all in a days work. Just glad he didn’t jump over the rail, because I want to see justice on this and that would not have been justice.”
IAN- “Dude..seriously, what was that?”
JAKE - “A kiss, haven’t you ever been kissed before?”
IAN- “Sure I have been kissed before, but we just met, less than ten minutes ago. And how is that going to help me deal with not being with Mark?”
JAKE- “Sorry, but one of the best ways to get through a situation like that is to get with someone else. And I am one to not wait around when I see someone that I like. And I like you Ian.”
“IAN- “Well I don’t make it a habit to just kiss someone I just met.”
JAKE- “And maybe that is why, you and this Mark guy are not together now? I am telling you, if he is engaged to someone else, you just need to count him out. Find someone new. Enjoy yourself. Get involved, or just get laid.”
IAN- “You get right to the point don’t you?”
JAKE- “I do when I meet someone that I like and I am attracted to. You are just my type, So what do you say we go back to my place and get to know one another a little better? We can drink there, it doesn’t cost anything. I am sure I can make you forget about this Mark, at least for tonight.”
IAN- “That is tempting, but--”
JAKE- “But, what? I live right around the corner, we can leave your car here, and take mine. If you don’t want to do anything other than talk, that is fine. Just relax, and try to forget this guy.”
IAN- “You know what? I think I will take you up on that. I need to get back out there, look and see what I am missing.”
JAKE- “That’s the spirit. Come on before Eduardo decides to come ask me for the money I owe him again...
OFFICER- “You have no where to go, put down the gun...”
JAKE- “I have somewhere I can go, trust me lady, I can jump over the side, what other choice do I have, I probably just killed a guy, the wrong guy, but nonetheless, I don’t intend on living my life in prison.”
OFFICER- “The guy you shot wasn’t dead, at least not from what they are telling me, he is on his way to the hospital now. Just put down the gun. Come with no fight and it will look good on you, don’t make me shoot you.”
JAKE- “Trust me, I’d rather jump than shoot a cop, if I did that, I am dead anyway. This wasn’t what was supposed to happen, I just wanted to scare them, the gun went off accidentally.”
OFFICER- “okay, but you need to put it down now, and come with me, if this was just to scare them the court will go easy on you, you didn’t go out there with the intention to kill someone.”
JAKE- “No, I couldn’t do that. But what reason do I have to believe you that anyone is going to go easy on me, you don’t know my past.”
DANIEL- “I know your past Bowling and I know you are not a killer, and I also know you wouldn’t do anything to harm yourself. Just put down the gun and go to Officer Walsh. No one wants this, Bowling.”
JAKE- “No one understands this, trust me. Seth took everything from me. He left me, left me destitute, with nothing, and look what he has. This should have all been mine... with him.”
OFFICER WALSH- “Don’t let him take everything else from you then, put down the gun and come with us, let us hear your story.”
JAKE- “So you can lock me up for the rest of my life?”
DANIEL- “No one is saying that Jake, we are not the court, or a judge or jury. Just put down the gun and give yourself up. None of this is necessary.”
He looks at them both, then looks behind him at the bay far below them, and he drops his gun...
IAN- “I just think that---- oh...
Jake grabs him and begins kissing him, there was no conversation. And before he even realized it, Ian was in Jake’s bed...
Early the next morning, Ian wakes up and sits on the edge of the bed. Jake wakes up and mumbles something.
JAKE- “Thanks, stay for breakfast?”
IAN- “Listen, Jake, this shouldn’t have happened, and I am sorry that I---
JAKE- “No apologies, Ian, I enjoyed myself, and like I said last night, I like you.”
IAN- :”Well, I should get home. I have a class at 11, and Mark does as well. Plus I want to get home before Seth leaves for work.”
JAKE- “Seth?”
IAN- “Yeah, that’s Mark’s fiance, they met on the bachelor show. Mark won.”
JAKE- “Is that right...interesting. Well if you need to go I understand, maybe dinner sometime?”
IAN- “Yeah, I will call you.”
Ian grabs his clothes gets dressed and heads out the door back towards the the Wharf to pick up his car. As he prepares to leave, Jake lays in the bed and thinks to himself.
JAKE- (To himself) “You may not call me, but I am definitely calling you, especially now that I know who the other two are in this little love triangle!”
MIMI- “Hey so you new here? Haven’t seen you before handsome.”
IAN- “Been in town a few weeks, yeah. Needed to get out of the house for a few. Can I get a glass of wine, white if you have it.”
MIMI- “Sure thing. I’m Mimi, I own this place, and seeing how this is your first time, the first drink is on me. So things a little tense at home?”
IAN- “No, not really. Just feel like a third wheel there. Living with friends for a while. They are all “in love” and shit. I thought a change of scenery might help.”
As he and Mimi make small talk, another guy sits down next to Ian.
JAKE- “You are new, not seen you here before. I am Jake, and the next one is on me.”
IAN- “It’s okay, one should be enough.”
JAKE- “Don’t be silly, no one drinks just one, isn’t that right Mimi?”
MIMI- “Certainly not you Jake. You want your regular?”
JAKE- “Yeah, ...so stranger, what’s your name now that you know mine? And what brings you to the Wharf?”
IAN- “Ian, I’m Ian. Nothing really just need to get out for a while. So this place seems like the place to be.”
JAKE- “Mimi runs a fine establishment here. No bullshit goes on here. Everyone is laid back here and gentlemanly... I guess that’s the word for it. So you new to the Bay?”
IAN- “Yeah, been here a few weeks. You from here?”
JAKE- “Nope, moved here back a few months ago, from San Myshuno. Needed a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. What brings you here, Ian?”
IAN- “Moved here with a friend. He got engaged and moved in with his fiance. We are students at Foxbury, so him and his fiance invited me to stay until the semester. Cheap rent, so I couldn’t pass it up. Be heading out sooner than expected it seems though.”
JAKE- “Really? And why is that?”
IAN- “His fiance’s mom is selling her house, that’s where we all stay. So they are looking to buy a new place, and I am sure they are not going to want me to tag along. So I suppose it’s back to Britechester for me. Plus, I am done being a third wheel.”
JAKE- “Well drink up my new friend. Life is never as bad as you think. Things always seem to work out.”
IAN- “Not likely in this situation. The man your in love with is in love with someone else, and your stuck living with them. That is pretty bad if you ask me.”
JAKE- “Whoa... yeah, you have a point. All the more reason to have more than one drink.”
IAN- “And then when I tried kissing him, he got all bent out of shape and got somewhat defensive. He said he loved me first, what was I supposed to do with that? You know? And now he said he was going to have to say something to Seth.”
JAKE- “Let him. I mean maybe Seth will realize that Mark loves you and not him and tell him to go his own way. Better now than later down the road.”
IAN- “Then I will definitely be out of a place to live, and probably lose Mark.”
JAKE- “I told you that you could stay here, Ian. It’s not an issue. Don’t worry about not having a place to live. I think your real issue is that you don’t want to not be around Mark. Face it, you are in love with him and you are not going to be able to get over it until you have him.”
IAN- “But if Seth breaks up with him, Mark will blame me. Then I will lose him.”
JAKE- “So that is your fear then, it’s not the whole where will I live thing.”
IAN- “I suppose you are right. I do love him and I feel like he does love me that way, but because of Seth---”
JAKE- “You mean because of Seth’s money. That’s the only reason he is with him you know. Once Seth realizes that Mark is in love with you and not him, he will know why Mark is staying around.”
IAN- “I don’t know Jake. I think he does love Seth. But he loves me as well, he just doesn’t know what to do. He knows he can not have both of us, because Seth wouldn’t accept that at all. I don’t think it’s the money.”
JAKE- “Say what you will, but I think it is. We need to break them up, Ian.”
IAN- “I wish that Mark was free, but breaking them up is not going to make him come running to me. He will blame me. I don’t want to be the reason they break up. Why are you so bent on wanting them to break up? You don’t even know them.”
JAKE- “You are right, I don’t know them. But I know you. I don’t want to see you in this shape. Do what you have to do, then. Either break them up or just go your own way, move in here with me and be over it.”
IAN- “So do you really care about me?”
JAKE- “Of course I do, what other reason would I be this concerned, that’s why they need to break up. Have another drink, I poured you another one it is going to get warm. And then we can have some quality time with each other.”
IAN- “I don’t want to drink much. This should be my last one. I will probably have to drive home. Maybe we should do that quality time another time, Jake.”
JAKE- “Just drink the drink I made you.”
