I've been a fan of this guy since 2014. A friend introduced me to his work, and I was immediately struck by his voice. I only wish he had released more material over the years. Around April 28, 2018, I remember reflecting on what drew me to him. I wasn’t attracted to him in a sexual sense. Sure, he’s a good-looking guy, but what really resonated with me was his style and personality. I admired the way he carried himself—very private, reserved, and thoughtful. His art felt personal and intimate, like it came from a real place. Definitely help me in my healing journey.
Back then, I was really hopeful about what I thought was a grunge revival. I was completely burnt out on artists like Bieber, One Direction, and the mainstream rap scene. That revival never fully materialized, and I’ve made peace with that. Honestly, I still believe that once something becomes too mainstream, it loses something essential. I felt that way as a teenager, and I still do.
Just look at Marvel now. The work is still solid, but I can’t help but feel put off by how many people who once mocked it are now obsessed with it—and quick to make demands as if they’ve always been part of the fanbase. It’s a similar situation with Star Wars. It’s not about gatekeeping; it’s about remembering who appreciated it before it became trendy.
