Sirius' voice was loud and clear as he addressed Peter. Looking severe and austere in his plum colored Wizengamot robes, his eyes were cold slate as he stared down at the pale faced, sweating traitor.

"I had thought that our friend Peter died that day five years ago, but in fact he had died many years before then. I remember clearly the personal betrayals you have heaped upon myself and my family: hurting innocent children, taking advantage of the care and fondness we had extended to you, joining an organization so grotesque it is impossible to conceive. I take no pleasure in your sentence other than the knowledge that justice has been served, for there is no place for the type of evil that is in you to exist in our society. By ruling of the Wizengamot, we sentence you, Peter Pettigrew, to the Dementor's kiss."

"NO!" Peter screamed, pulling at the magical shackles that bound him to his human form.

"Perhaps the boys should go outside-" Lily murmured kindly to James, "Perhaps you should?"

"No." James shook his head grimly, "I have to see the end. It's up to the boys if they want to. He hurt them as much as anyone-"

"I'm staying." Harry stayed firm, looking up at the court of fifty witches and wizards and catching the eye of Dumbledore. A knowing look passed between them. Peter had to pay for two lifetimes of deceit.

"Cowards keep their lives. You would do well by learning that," Snape gave a dark chuckle.

"SNAPE!" James, dark in auror robes arrived from the direction of the school. In one swift motion he pushed Harry behind him and threw a stunning spell toward the other man.

In a moment Snape had jumped both the spell and the gates. Lifting the sword in a sort of salute he smiled slowly, eyes boring into Harry's father, "Mischief Managed."

Facing down against James who theatrically played the role of a death eater, Sirius sat behind Harry, barking orders.

"The most important thing in a duel is to always keep your eye on your opponent's wand – you can see the spell forming before it takes flight! That split second can help you make important decisions-" Sirius lectured as James partially released the spells in demonstration of how the tip of his wand glew appropriately. "Death Eaters rarely bellow their spells - at least not the minor ones – they are all trained to cast wordlessly."

"Blue is always defensive or water based spells." James called from across the room, "You should hedge your bets on defensive and not bother with a strike; it will just bounce back. Take the time to cast a spell at something around your opponent, quake the floor so they lose focus and attack quickly."

Nodding, Harry gripped his wand tight.

"Ready?"

"Ready-" Harry felt his throat go dry.

"Go!" Sirius called and Harry began the duel against his father.
