Harry Potter and the Wish of Life - Chapter 38

AU. Harry makes a wish that changes the past, sending him into a world where James and Lily lived but Voldemort is all powerful. And, er… Snape is …Uncle Sevi? While war approaches, Harry shelters beneath the marauders’ wings, growing into a stronger and more valiant hero than ever before.

Down on the floor, his two friends were running for their lives. Draco flew down to them and as they both piled onto the broom they found they could not take off. Gray eyes flashed up to the Potter brothers with horror.

"It won't take three!" Draco yelled up in terror, "It won't carry three!"

Muddled by the amplified confundus curse, Harry still knew what would happen before it did. Ron's face grew hard and with a firm nod he got off the broom.

"No!" Parvati gasped.

But Harry knew his best friend too well. Ron was a knight. He would sacrifice anything to protect his Queen.

Imagine you have a coworker who likes to bake. Every week, they bring in a batch of delicious, homemade cookies and leave them in the break room. Next to the plate of cookies is a sign, “If you like my cookies, could you please just leave me a note and tell me what you like about them? The more feedback you leave about what you like, the more incentive I have to bake.” A hundred coworkers walk by and take a cookie. One person leaves a note. “Great cookies! Bake some more soon!”

The next week, once again there are cookies in the break room with the same sign. Once again a hundred people take a cookie and only one person leaves a note. “Nice! More soon!”

Week Three- Once again, a hundred people take a cookie. No one leaves a note.

Week Four- One hundred people take a cookie. No note.

Week Five- There are no cookies. Someone leaves a note. “Where are the cookies? I loved them. Please, please bake some cookies.”

Week Six- There are no cookies. Ten people leave notes. “I miss your cookies. They were my favorites. I loved the chocolate chips. My friend really liked the way you had almonds in the cranberry ones.”

Week Seven- Motivated by the wonderful notes, the baking coworker stays up late to bake the best batch of cookies they have ever made. That week, a hundred people take a cookie. No one leaves a note. 

The co-worker gives up baking for their colleagues.

AU. Harry makes a wish that changes the past, sending him into a world where James and Lily lived but Voldemort is all powerful. And, er... Snape is ...Uncle Sevi? While war approaches, Harry shelters beneath the marauders' wings, growing into a stronger and more valiant hero than ever before.

"He looked around the entire span of the memory but found no one nearby, no possible culprit peering at their own crime. It was useless. A disappointed sigh dropped from Harry's lips before he cringed as the knife made it's way into the tender skin of Hermione's forearm. His friend screamed and thrashed in agony, but it was for vain as her voice could not be heard nor her body able to move.

He was about to pull from the scene, his stomach lurching as Hermione's arm grew bloodier and bloodier by the moment, when he saw it.

Outside, disoriented, Harry blinked.

For as Luna had been cutting into his friend, spitting words of viciousness and hatred, her own tears fell just as much as Hermione's."
