i agree that new years resolutions are generally awful but fun ones are fantastic for my nd brain !!! i saw a post once where someone talked about a year of trying new fruit to see what they thought of it every time they encountered one, or a pasta quest year where they tried new pasta shapes and found out what they were intended for. it completely changed my view on resolutions !!! now they exist to me not as something i can fail at but as a way to have a silly ongoing lighthearted way to look for and find more small opportunities for joy!

I'm doing the same thing!! I'm trying new vegetables this year. I can eat them however I want (including smothered in cheese if I so choose).

I love ones like that and I think they are so much better for the brain (not even the nd brain, just. Brains full stop) in the bleak midwinter. How many times did I have a mid-January meltdown because trying to go to the gym every single day and eat kale and do yoga had sapped all the joy out of my already-gray days? Too many to count. I refuse to do that anymore.

uff. This series is just too full of great scenes I want to sketch. And to think this is all just Way of Kings... (I lent Words of Radiance to a friend and now I have to wait for him to finish it, before I can read on. Which is good.
