Secret Santa Detective Timelord Part 11/11
A Wholock Gift fic for mirabilelectu.
The last chapter.
“You seem upset, Doctor…” Sherlock commented.
“No, I’m fine” the Doctor replied with a small sigh as he looked at the screen.
“You knew they had to leave at some point,” John said.
There was a long pause of silence as the Doctor apparently parked the TARDIS. He was very quiet. Sherlock looked up to stare at the strange old man. John did the same. The Doctor stepped from the controls and walked towards the doors.
“I’ve taken you home. I’ll come back for you shortly. I’m just going to drop off the Rein Moose by myself,” the Doctor said.
“This is somewhere near the London Eye, we’re nowhere near home…” John said.
“What day is it?” Sherlock asked.
“It’s still Christmas Eve, 2011” the Doctor answered.
“The night that never ends…” John said tiredly.
“Perhaps you can go grab something to eat while I’m gone,” the Doctor said with a smile as he closed the TARDIS doors. John and Sherlock watched as the time machine disappeared out of sight. Sherlock shook his head and started walking on.
“Chinese?” Sherlock asked.
“Do they serve on Christmas eve?” John said.
“I don’t see why not,” Sherlock returned.
The two walked on together. John kept his eye on the London Eye as it shone brightly in the darkness. There was even a flurry of snow falling. There wasn’t enough to stick on the ground for a white Christmas, but it was enough to make it feel like Christmas. It was kind of romantic. John coughed awkwardly into his hand.
“Something bothering you?” Sherlock asked.
“Nothing just thinking about…”
“The Mistletoe?”
“Ummm…” John did his best to hide his flushed cheeks. This was becoming slightly embarrassing. What was worse is that it seemed Sherlock was not bothered by the situation at all. He seemed completely at ease. Then Sherlock suddenly stopped walking. John slowed down and turned towards him. Sherlock met John’s eye.
The taller man slowly bent forward towards the army doctor. John began to slowly panic, but he did nothing to stop Sherlock. The detective slid his cheek along John’s as he breathed on the shell of his ear. John flushed a darker red. This was too much.
“I don’t mean to alarm you John, but it appears someone has been following us for a while now,” Sherlock whispered into his ear.
“Wh…what?” John croaked.
Sherlock pulled back from John. The smaller man did his best to look out from the corner of his eye. The two were finally in a well-lit area. The other person should be easy to see, and they were. Considering the person was fully visible and now running straight towards them. John was now very confused.
The person heading towards them appeared to be a young woman around twenty-something. She had short choppy blonde hair that barely reached her shoulders. A wide smile was on her face, yet at the same time it almost looked as if she was about to burst into tears. Both men didn’t quite know what to do in this situation.
“Oh my god. It’s you! It’s really you! I had to make sure. I thought I had finally lost my mind when I saw you in passing. This is great!” the girl cried as she ran over to John and Sherlock. She wrapped her arms around each of them in turn. Her American accent was very distinct and simply raised more questions.
“What are you doing?” Sherlock asked irritably as the girl clung to him.
“Oh you haven’t changed at all…” the girl sighed happily.
“I don’t understand,” John said honestly.
“What’s going on here?” came a new voice. The young woman let go of Sherlock upon hearing the voice. She spun around quickly and as soon as her eyes fell on the Doctor, her smile grew ten times wider. She flung herself towards the strange man gleefully.
“Santa!” she cheered.
“Santa!?!” the three men said simultaneously.
The young woman continued to look Starry-eyed even as the Doctor pushed her back. He studied her face, and Sherlock did as well. After a moment both men seemed to realize something. Sherlock seemed almost surprised. Or perhaps disgusted and appalled.
“It’s Trini…” Sherlock said simply.
“It’s…what?” John managed to say.
“What are you doing here?” the Doctor asked as he looked at the young woman with a smile.
“I was looking for you! Well…I mean not really. I had no idea you’d be here. I’ve been searching for so many years. I wanted to see you guys again, but most of all I wanted to see Brittany again. It was so hard working with no last names, and you can’t really ask people if they know Santa or a Strawberry. I came to London in one last move of desperation. I’m here for study abroad, so I took this as the perfect opportunity to find a certain detective. His name is Sherlock Holmes. He’s supposed to be brilliant…” Trini explained in a rush, words just falling out of her mouth.
“Sherlock Holmes?” John said dumbstruck before giving Sherlock a side glance.
“Yes. I heard about him a while back. I found his website. I’ve sent e-mails and everything. I’ve also been on the forums for weeks, but he seems to be ignoring me. I thought I’d just have to go and find him in person,” Trini said with a sigh, although the smile on her face refused to go away.
“So it was you. I was contemplating blocking you, but I haven’t had the time. If I’m correct you’re that girlyjames person whose been spamming my forums. I personally found the missing person case too mundane…” Sherlock went on.
“Well, regardless I needed help and… wait. How do you…” Trini grew quiet in thought.
“May I present to you, my dear Trini, the one and only Sherlock Holmes,” the Doctor said, gesturing towards the other man. The first reaction the girl gave made sense within the context. She looked shocked, but then she did something strange. She started laughing uncontrollably.
“What’s so funny?” John asked.
“Strawberry is the great detective, Sherlock Holmes” Trini said before bursting into another fit of giggles. After that comment, John found it a bit hard himself not to laugh. Sherlock did not look amused.
“I detest that name,” Sherlock said seething.
“I’m currently letting myself be called by I name I gave myself when I was five. You don’t see me complaining,” Trini said with a grin.
“I’ve always liked you the least,” Sherlock said with a glare.
“Sherlock…” John warned.
“No, it’s fine. It’s his prickly attitude that makes him my Strawberry. Speaking of which, you guys haven’t changed at all. You look exactly the same, even down to the clothes I remember you wearing. How is that possible?” Trini asked.
“My sleigh is really a time machine and a space ship,” the Doctor said.
“We look the same, because it’s still the same night for us,” John said.
“The same night…” Trini said softly. Suddenly she was grasped by the hand. She looked up to meet the Doctor’s eyes. He appeared to be digging something out of his pocket. He pulled whatever it was out, and gently placed it into Trini’s hands, “That’s my hat…”
“I found it in my pocket when I was sending the Rein Moose home. I had forgotten I had it. It still has some melted snow on it… that little pink hat,” said the Doctor with a smile.
The young woman grew very quiet. Her smile didn’t fade, but it grew softer. She brushed her fingers over the fabric of the little pink hat. It was such a tiny hat. Had she really been that small as a child? A strange look began to grow in her eyes. It might have been the start of small tears, but she quickly wiped at her eyes before any could fall.
“Where’s Brittany?” Trini asked.
“We dropped her off at home right after we got rid of you,” Sherlock said.
“Can you take me to her? I’d like to see her now” Trini said hopefully.
“I can’t take you to her. I have no idea where she is, she might have moved by now. I don’t know her last name either… It’s truly a miracle that you even found me,” the Doctor said.
“But I need to find her! I’ve worked so hard to get to this point. I have the great Sherlock Holmes and Santa Claus before me. You can’t tell me that you can’t help me,” Trini said with a quivering lip.
“I don’t think…” but the Doctor was cut off before he could finish.
“Don’t tell me you can’t. Don’t tell me you don’t think it’s possible. Almost sixteen years, I had a magical night. A night that should’ve been impossible, but I remembered it. I dreamed it. I lived it in little adventures I made up as a kid. My adventure with Santa Claus, Bilbo, Strawberry, and my very best friend Brittany. She’s the friend I’ve been looking for. Not only because we promised to see other again, but because she also lived that night. She was there to experience it all, and she knows that I’m not delusional. She knows I’m not crazy. She knows that our dream was real, and she’s the only one,” Trini said as tears started to trail down her cheeks freely.
“I’ve done it again. The girls’ who waited…” the Doctor said softly to himself before speaking to Trini again, “There is something. It’s a complete long shot, because it also depends on Brittany. However, there is a way I can find her”
“Then let’s do it…” Trini said trying to calm down.
“I can’t promise it will work,” the Doctor said.
“I don’t care. I at least want to try,” Trini said determinately.
“Alright. It looks like we’ve got one more adventure for the night. Time to get back to the TARDIS. We’ve got a signal to track,” the Doctor said.
////////////////////////////////////
Brittany felt snug and happy in her electric blanket as she lounged on her family’s couch. She clicked away at her lap top that sat nicely in her lap. A cup of hot chocolate sat on coffee table nearby. She scrolled down the website she was on, and paused when a picture of the power rangers popped up. A sad smile came to her face. Suddenly something caught her eye off in the corner of the room.
Amongst the Christmas decorations, something was blinking on and off. It didn’t appear to be the Christmas lights either. Brittany got out of her warm cocoon, and headed towards the strange light. A breath caught in her throat as she realized what it was. It was one of her most prized possessions. Her old snow globe…
Brittany gently picked up the snow globe. She’s had it since she was six. Her parents never question where it came from, and simply stocked it with the rest of the Christmas decorations every year. It was so warm now. A strange noise echoed from outside. Brittany looked up curiously trying to pinpoint what the noise was. It sounded so familiar. In the next moment the noise stopped and the doorbell rang.
“I’ll get it!” Brittany called to the rest of the household as she continued to clutch the snow globe in her hand. She walked towards the door and peeked out of the peep hole. She didn’t recognize the person on the other side of the door. She held the snow globe carefully in one hand, and opened the door.
“Brittany?” said the young woman on the other side of the door hopefully as the two stared at one another.
“Can I help you?” Brittany asked curiously. The other young woman seemed very nervous. It also looked as if she had cried a little bit earlier. Brittany hoped that everything was alright with this other girl.
“Hello. I’ve waited so long. I don’t know what to say. My real name is Madeline. I can’t believe this is happening…” the young woman stuttered.
“Your real name?” Brittany said confused.
“Yes. Well…” the young woman’s nervousness seemed to have grown. She bundled up a small hat in her hands, and brought up to her chest. Her fingers played against the knit pink hat. Brittany paused for a moment to really look at her hat. A long lost memory started to float back to her.
“Trini?” Brittany said softly as she looked towards the young woman once more.
“Yes! Yes, it’s me!” Madeline/Trini said excitedly.
In the next moment, both girls’ were gathered up in each other’s arms. The hug they shared was long overdue, but entirely worth it. Tears prickled at both their eyes. Brittany hugged even tighter one last time before stepping back.
“I can’t believe it. I’d given up. I never thought I’d you see again,” Brittany said in disbelief.
“Well, I guess, surprise! Merry Christmas!” Madeline said with a glowing smile and a light laugh.
“Merry Christmas!” Brittany said happily.
“And a happy new year!” came a shout from the front lawn.
Brittany stepped out of her spot from doorway, and peered out. A wider smile broke out on her face, and she ran past Madeline towards the Doctor. John and Sherlock stood on either side of the Time Lord. Brittany shared another warm with Santa.
“We’re here too…” Sherlock said.
“Do you want to hugged?” John asked curiously.
“It’s merely the principle of the thing…” Sherlock replied.
“You’re just jealous someone’s getting more attention than you,” John said with a smirk.
“Santa…” Brittany said breathlessly as she broke apart from him.
“Hello Brittany. It’s been a very long time… and I want to fix that. I want to fix that for both of you,” the Doctor said, as Madeline joined them on Brittany’s front lawn.
“Fix it?” Brittany asked curiously.
“How would you two like to join us on some more adventures? Collect some new stories to tell? Some new memories to remember? Together of course,” the Doctor said, smiling.
Both young women looked at each other. Smiles broke out onto their faces. This was starting to become the best Christmas. Perhaps it would be even better than the one they shared long ago. Madeline and Brittany took each other’s hands, and turned back to the Doctor.
“Yes!” they said simultaneously with matching smiles.
“Then let the adventures begin!” the Doctor said.
The End?
Secret Santa Detective Timelord Part 10 b/?
A Wholock Gift fic for mirabilelectu.
John and Sherlock looked a little wary at the thought of letting go of their hold on the beast, but they did as the Doctor asked. As soon as the Rein Moose realized it was no longer bound, it attempted to spring from the sheet. The Doctor held up a round device in his hands towards the beast. A large beam of light burst from the device in his hand and surrounded the Rein Moose. The light flickered a moment before shooting back into the round device in the Doctor’s hand.
“Got’cha!” the Doctor said smiling.
“Wow!”
“Cool!”
“You’ve got it then?” Sherlock asked.
“Yes, I do!” the Doctor said, stuffing the object into his pocket.
“That thing you used. It’s like that children’s cartoon?” John commented.
“Pokémon. Yeah… Had an interesting conversation with Satoshi Tajiri about zoology, which somehow led to me talking about Time Lord Technology. I showed him this little device on a whim, needless to say I’m still waiting on some copyright things…”
“What’s Pokémon?” the girls’ asked.
“My god, it’s like they’re the ones from another world,” John commented.
“Not their fault. Hasn’t been invented yet…You’re going to love the rest of the 90’s kids!” the Doctor said cheerily.
“What I don’t understand is why we didn’t use that for the other eight bloody Rein Moose,” Sherlock said irritably.
“It can only hold one thing at a time” the Doctor explained, “due to the fact that this Rein Moose was much bigger than all the others, it was the only way to get it into the TARDIS”
“Why was this one bigger than the others?” John questioned.
“Haven’t you figured that out yet?” Sherlock said.
“She was their mother,” the Doctor said.
“She was a mommy?” Brittany asked.
“A mommy? She had big babies,” Trini commented.
“That’s an understatement…” John said.
The girls ran from their hiding places towards the Doctor. Each hugged a leg of the tall lanky man happily. John gave a tired sigh as he surveyed the destruction. Sherlock after a moment appeared to be a bit cheerful in his own way. He realized that they’d be getting rid of the children soon, hopefully.
“Alright! Back to the TARDIS..sleigh,” the Doctor said, patting the girl’s heads. The girls’ reluctantly let go of the Doctor as he started heading to the door of the research laboratory. Sherlock and John followed after.
“What about the polar bear?” John asked.
“Taken care of…” the Doctor replied.
“That’s just vague enough to be unhelpful,” Sherlock said.
The small group rushed back to the TARDIS, because it was definitely starting to get just a bit nippy. Tiny feet scurried along, two took long strides, and John followed along in quick little steps. They reached the TARDIS in record time. The Doctor pushed the doors in and continued onward.
“Now. We’ve got to get those girls’ home. Then I’ll drop off the Rein Moose somewhere else. Back to the night before Christmas…” the Doctor said, adjusting some of the gadgets on the console.
“Twas the night before Christmas…” John said offhandedly.
“Wildbeast on the loose,” Sherlock continued.
“Excitement was stirring…” the Doctor said smiling.
“We called them Rein Moose!” Trini and Brittany cheered. The two seemed to be catching on to what was happening. From then on, the group exchanged lines between one another. The adults contributed more than the children, but every now and then the girls’ added some creative input.
“All the lawns of suburbia decorated with care…
Like the lop-sided Santa that gave John a scare.
The Children had been all snug in their beds,
While visions of Jelly Babies danced in their heads.
Sherlock in his coat and John without cane,
Wondering if they would ever get home again.
Out on Brittany’s lawn there arose such a clatter,
She sprang from her bed to see what was the matter,
She rushed downstairs with a spin,
Only to come upon three very strange men.
The moon on the breast of fake-fallen snow,
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below,
When what to our wondering eyes should appear,
But something that looked similar to a Reindeer.
After many an adventure had passed,
It seemed all the Rein Moose had been collected at last.
The adventure had grown more interesting when Trini came,
Two little girls together gave each Rein Moose a name!”
“What are their names again girls? You know the rhyme, just change it up a bit!” the Doctor said smiling as he landed the TARDIS in Trini’s backyard once more.
“Now Holly! Now Jolly! Now Vickey and Lost. On Mycroft! On Mistletoe! On Mommy! On Fred slash Dash…and Olive the other Reindeer! To the top of the house! To the top of the wall! Now dash away! Dash away all!” the little girls’ exclaimed.
“I’d say that was based on the original poem very loosely…” Sherlock commented.
Brittany and Trini giggled happily as they clapped their hands. This Christmas had to have been one of the best. Their parents would hardly believe their tales of adventure. It took a moment longer for it to sink in that their time together was ending now. Trini lowered her arms and stared out with glazed eyes at her back yard when the Doctor opened the TARDIS doors.
“Come on then Trini. I’ve made it so you’ve only been gone about five minutes,” the Doctor said gesturing towards the door. He watched as the small child’s smile dropped off her face. Trini turned to Brittany.
“I don’t want to go… I want to be with my best friend,” Trini said as she took Brittany’s hand.
“It’s Christmas! We’ll have another adventure soon!” Brittany said hopefully.
“Okay! That sounds nice!” Trini said happily as she hugged the other little girl.
The Doctor didn’t want to dash their hopes, but it was unlikely they’d have another adventure. At least he hadn’t planned on it. Maybe they’d just be able to keep these happy memories for themselves. A tale to beat all tales in their childhood. The Doctor was taken out of his thoughts by a pair of small arms wrapping around him.
“Good-bye Santa…” Trini said softly.
“Good-bye Trini…” said the Doctor as he began to take off the industrial strength winter gear off the girl. She’d melt in those clothes at home, and it would probably raise too many questions that she couldn’t answer.
With those last few goodbyes, the other little girl stepped off the TARDIS and watched as her friends’ disappeared. Brittany looked very solemn now. Or perhaps it was just exhaustion catching up with her. It had been a long night. The Doctor took his hands off the controls, and also explained that they had only been gone five minutes from Brittany’s house. He opened the door, and Brittany proceeded to hug each man goodbye.
“Goodbye Santa… Goodbye Strawberry… Goodbye Bilbo,” Brittany said as tears began to prickle at the edges of her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” the Doctor said as he kneeled down in front of Brittany, “There’s no need to be sad. Wasn’t tonight fun?”
“Yeah…” Brittany said softly.
“If it was fun, no need for tears,” the Doctor said, as he brushed a hand soothingly along the girl’s hair.
“Merry Christmas Santa…” Brittany said as she stepped off the TARDIS. She waved as the TARDIS doors closed. She waved as the TARDIS disappeared from sight. She continued to wave at nothing for a long time until her arm hurt. She was left staring at the stars on Christmas eve, hoping that perhaps her friend was too.
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good night…” the Doctor said.
It's your secret santa. I'm so, so sorry I haven't sent out your gift. I'm hoping on doing something relatively cool that I actually make rather than buy. But, I haven't had the time to do it proper justice. I'll hopefully have it out before Jan 1st, which is the fandom's holy day anyway! I'm sorry again.
Hey! It's perfectly alright. Please take your time, and don't feel rushed. I'd much rather a thoughtful gift (and handmade!) that takes a bit longer. :) Merry Christmas!
note for jamcret jamta(:
I ended up mailing mine kind of late, so i wrote on the package for you to open it january first while you scour the internet for sherlock livestreams (as i would expect no less of you xD). I do hope you like it xD

Secret Santa Detective Timelord Part 10 a/?
This Part was so long that I decided to separate it into two sections.
A Wholock Gift fic for mirabilelectu.
“How cold is at the North Pole, Santa?” Brittany asked as John began to wrap a rather large striped scarf around her neck. Sherlock watched from the sidelines as the Doctor and John covered the girls’ in winter clothes.
“It’s incredibly cold, which is why we need to make sure we’re nice and warm” the Doctor said as he started to pull off Trini’s little pink hat.
“That’s my hat!” Trini cried as the Doctor began to fashion another piece of headgear onto her small head.
“I know, but this one is much warmer than that one” the Doctor said as he pocketed the other pink hat. Trini huffed, but no longer protested as the Doctor fitted some gloves onto her hands with a smile.
“This scarf is sooooo long!” Brittany said with a giggle.
“Yes! It was one of my favorites. I had a hat that went with it…” the Doctor said.
With everyone bundled up, it was time to go. John and Sherlock grabbed the flashlights again as they exited the TARDIS. Everyone shivered as they made contact with the outside world. Although they had layered up to the best of their ability it was simply too cold.
“Let’s get going then,” John said as he started walking along.
“Why would the Rein Moose come here?” Brittany asked.
“Yeah! It’s too cold. I don’t like it,” Trini said as she buried herself more into her jacket.
“The Rein Moose appear to have no preference to where they end up,” the Doctor commented.
“No…what?” both girls chimed.
“It means unlike me, the Rein Moose don’t care where they are. For example, I’d much rather be away from most of you,” Sherlock replied.
“Honestly Sherlock, this would have to be a 10. Chasing alien Reindeer?” John said as he panned over the landscape once more with his flashlight.
“Hardly. I’d give it a 7. If it actually starts getting interesting perhaps an 8,” Sherlock said dryly.
When Sherlock panned his flashlight to the left he stopped. He squinted a bit to try to get a better look. He then started wandering off in the direction his flashlight was pointed. Since he had decided to not inform the others of his doings, it took a moment or two longer for them to start following him.
“What is it?” the Doctor asked.
“I think I see one of the beasts. I can make out what looks like fur from this distance. It seems to be…oh,” Sherlock stopped.
“It’s a polie bear!” Trini cheered, now that the group was close enough to the animal to actually see what it was.
“Can we pet it, Santa?” Brittany asked.
“No, I think not. In fact, I believe it looks to be waking up. I suggest we RUN!” the Doctor said before picking up both girls and sprinting. The other two men weren’t far behind him as a loud roar erupted. This was very not good…
The group was running mindlessly now. They had lost sight of the TARDIS on this icy tundra. The Doctor stopped abruptly and the girls clung on tight as they teetered over the edge of a cliff. The Doctor had noticed it just in the nick of time.
“Why’d you stop?” John asked as he and Sherlock caught up.
“Avoiding a fall…” the Doctor replied.
“What’s that over there?” Sherlock asked as he pointed his flashlight down the hill. There appeared to a large building off in the distance. With the sound of the impending Polar Bear attack behind them, the group decided then and there that it was probably best to head towards the building.
They made their way around and down the hill at a pace that was not likely to have them be thrown over the edge, but also avoid angry Polar Bear. The closer they got to the building the more details they could pick out. They headed towards an opening in one of the giant metal doors. Once inside, Sherlock and John dropped their flashlights to finishing closing the door all the way. It was just in the nick of time too, considering the large sound of pounding on the metal from the other side that followed.
All the men were panting heavily. Sherlock picked up his flashlight, and began surveying the inside of the building or at least the part of the building they had managed to get into. John had propped both hands on his knees as he continued to take in deep breaths. The Doctor lowered the girls’ back down.
“Where are we? What is this place?” John asked as he picked up his own flashlight.
“It looks like an abandoned research lab,” Sherlock said as he began to walk more into the center of the building. There were some broken down computers and controls on one wall, mostly random bits of everything here and there (some hanging from the rafters), and a rather annoyed looking Rein Moose in the far corner.
“Um… that’s lucky,” John said.
“I’m not sure if lucky is quite the word I’d use,” the Doctor said as the Rein Moose slowly started moving towards them.
“Woah! This Rein Moose is bigger than the other ones,” Brittany said.
“It’s gigantikus!” Trini commented.
As the group talked about said Rein Moose, its eyes began to glow a deep red. An angry sounding growl was emitting from its throat. It looked downright murderous. It was also very big in comparison to the other Rein Moose they had caught earlier that night.
“How are we getting that onto the TARDIS?” Sherlock said as he slowly backed away from the Rein Moose as it continued to inch closer.
“I’m thinking…” the Doctor said as he glanced around the room.
“Think faster!” John shouted as the red eyed Rein Moose pointed its gaze towards him.
“We should name it Rudolf! It has glowy red eyes!” Trini said.
“Rudolf had a red nose…” Brittany said turning to the other girl.
“Oh yeah…” Trini said thoughtfully.
“Excellent!” the Doctor cried as he turned a switch on the side wall. A series of lights on the ceiling began to slowly flicker on. The room was soon bathed in an almost blinding light. The giant Rein Moose appeared not to like this at all.
It reared back on its hind-legs and started to convulse wildly. And suddenly, it began to morph right before their eyes. The neck of the beast began to elongate and become smoother. The face of the Rein Moose started to change to a more humanoid looking shape. The eyes of an angry woman stared back at them with the same glowing red eyes. It was like the satyr from hell.
“What the hell is that!?!?!” screamed John.
“I can see her boobies!” Trini pointed out.
“Doctor what exactly do we do now?” Sherlock shouted.
“Still thinking. Although, I’m beginning to form some conclusions on what exactly is happening here,” the Doctor said as he started heading back to the door.
“Mind sharing those thoughts with us?” John asked as he judged the distance between the mutated Rein Moose and them.
“I’m going back to the TARDIS,” the Doctor simply said as he reached for the door handle.
“What about that damn Polar Bear?” Sherlock asked as he began looking around the room for possible weapons to defend himself.
“Naughty word…” Brittany said softly.
“I personally would probably take the Polar Bear to this…thing,” John commented.
The comments provided by the two other men fell on deaf ears. The Doctor had appeared to already have left. The Doctor wouldn’t just leave them here to die, would he? That’s definitely not his style. Sherlock just assumed the daft man had a plan. He would just have to improvise till the time traveler got back.
“Where’s Santa?” both girls’ asked. Their attention fell to the door and away from the menacing creature on the other side of the room. This proved to be a dangerous decision for this was the moment the giant Rein Moose satyr chose to charge towards them.
“SHERLOCK!” John shouted.
He watched in amazement as Sherlock did something seemingly out of character. The tall gangly man had swooped in at the last moment and picked up both girls. The Rein Moose charged past and rammed into the metal doors, bending them slightly. The girls clung tightly to Sherlock’s coat and buried their heads into his chest. He was panting heavily from the rush of adrenaline pumping through his veins.
“You…brats…are a lot…heavier than you look,” Sherlock said as he bent over to set them onto the ground again.
“It’s times like this that I truly question why you believe that you have no heart,” John said with a smile.
“Oh, shut up!” Sherlock retorted.
“The Rudolf lady is coming back!!!” Brittany cried as the beast began to turn back around.
“Holey Sheet, Sherlock!” sprung from John’s lips.
“What!?!?” Sherlock replied.
“Look up there! Hanging from the banisters, do you see it?” John said, pointing frantically upwards.
“What are you…Oh. Brilliant!” Sherlock bounded over to the other side of the room as fast as he could. He caught on to John’s thinking quickly, and both men appeared to be on the same page. John was doing the opposite of Sherlock’s movements on his side of the room.
“You two stand behind that table and out of the way, okay?” John said as he climbed onto one of the consoles to keep a better reach at the banisters.
“Yes, Bilbo!” the two girls’ said as they rushed towards the table.
“John! Have you got it?” Sherlock asked from his position.
“Just give me…a minute” John said as he hopped up and down reaching for the edge of the sheet, “Got it!”
“On my mark!”
“Right!”
The Rein Moose made a strangled noise as it ran wildly back towards the center of the room. It whipped its head back and forth trying to find where the humans had gone. John and Sherlock steadied themselves as the girls’ watched from their hiding place. The Rein Moose took a few more steps forward.
“NOW!”
Both men jumped from their perches with the sheet held high. Soon enough the beast was engulfed inside the sheet. Sherlock and John clamped their hands hard onto the ground. The creature struggled against the fabric making the most horrible noise. The two had successfully trapped it.
“What do we do now? It’s just going to evaporate like the others isn’t it?” John asked, grunting as he continued to use all his strength to keep the monster pinned down.
“Not if I have anything to do about it. John. Sherlock. Step back…”
“SANTA!” Brittany and Trini shouted excitedly from their spots.
