SPOCK REALLY LIKES MARILYN MONROE THATS IT THATS THE POST
I don't remember who it was but someone on here said that mudds passion is objectively the best tas episode and uhhhh.... well i disagree.
It was just extremely uncomfortable to watch. I know this isn't an objective reason but even then i just think that it wasn't very good. Christine's characterisation was TERRIBLE, i hated the whole thing with her and spock.
As a nurse and scientist but also as a person she would NEVER drug someone to make them love her.
In platos stepchildren when spock was forced to kiss her she even told him that she had always wished for him but now that they didn't have a choice she "just wanted to crawl away and die."
The tas episode The Survivor is the first episode that establishes the fact that bones has a daughter.
He says that she went to school on cerberus ten years ago which means that by the time of the first five year mission she was at least sixteen years old and now i am LIVING for the idea of joanna coming aboard for a visit and them having a teenage girl on the ship walking around and (lovingly) criticising everything
The lorelai signal was wild for literally saying that these women could only manipulate the men because they were so emotional. Gave me a lot of, like, sirens from the odyssey vibes.
Also there was this one shot where they panned over all the faces of the women on the rescue party and it felt really powerful.
I liked that we finally got to see uhura in command, which roddenberry had already planned for tos but was eventually abandoned (probably by the producers) and replaced with scotty as third in command.
First First Contact was such a good season finale! It took some really interesting turns and the end really surprised me! I'm excited for what they'll do next season.
I think it's great how they developed the characters while still not rushing it.
Maybe we'll finally get some court martial episodes like in tos
I am excited for some possible jennifer/mariner slash this was a great way to introduce a new character and i hope they'll do something with it
So lwd season two is probably almost over already and i'm really... fascinated by Wej Duj.
They showed us lower decks of other ships and different dynamics. I could imagine that t'lyn will be a recurring character should there be a third season and i'm interested in her character. From what we know, She seems a bit like mariner before she found her friends on the cerritos. Mach would probably play a bigger role in a third season too.
I think this might be my favourite episode from the show yet, simply because we get to see so much more from other ships than from starfleet and i feel like this is a start for a new plot. Maybe they will make t'lyn, mach and the lower deckers from the cerritos meet, even when it is just brief.
The pakleds will probably not be a big problem when they don't get klingon weapons anymore.
Now that i'm done with tos i finally started watching tng.
Encounter at farpoint was pretty good though it is obvious it was the pilot, they just tried putting everything that makes star trek what it is in a double episode.
We get a good grasp of how the characters are and it's cool that they have more alien species represented on the bridge with this cast.
It was a little slow bc they tried to focus on the characters but god i love them already? I know that wesley wasn't very popular when the show first aired so i'm interested in how that turns out, especially because he only seems little younger than me (I believe he's fifteen).
The guest appearance by deforest kelley was a fun surprise though i have to say bones' casual xenophobia made me even more uncomfortable than in tos bc i didn't recognize him at first.
I loved the ending with the space jellyfish that was beautiful.
