James Drury (1934 - 2020) was a trained actor from New York City. Despite his big-city upbringing, James loved the outdoor life and a special fondness for horses which would lead him to a number of westerns. After graduating as an actor from NYU and performing a number of Shakespearean plays, James took his talents to Hollywood. Drury will forever be linked to the lead character on the popular tv western THE VIRGINIAN. A role that would last 9 seasons and 249 90-minute episodes.
