What is your character's biggest regret?
Bellatrixmakes a point of living with few regrets. She is incredibly firm in herconvictions. It would be difficult to find someone with more confidence whotruly can back up every single one of her claims. She is incredibly meticulousand makes few mistakes for it. She knows she isn’t entirely untouchable, butshe takes pride in the fact that if anyone tries to protest the things she doesclaim, she’d be able to show just how wrong they are.
Thatsaid, her regrets typically come from what she can’t control. She hates beingblindsided more than anything. She trusts incredibly few people, and she feelslike she should be on top of them at all times. She never liked Sirius. Thebutted heads since Day One. She wasn’t surprised when he went againsttradition, had the nerve to land in a different house. She wasn’t surprised thathe left. On occasion, she wonders if she had pushed harder, if she cared atall, perhaps he would have fallen in line with time. With it blowing over andworking out in her favor, truly, it’s hard to say she regrets it, but it’s oneshe wonders about more than most.
Itcould be how surprised she was when they were told Alphard was one of them.Sentimental, old codger. He was losing his mind; no wonder he was fond of Sirius. She was angry that she hadn’t realized it. She was thrown that this couldhappen again so soon. However, she recovered. Better off having them gone. Whenthings go wrong, it’s not for a reason, but it can be taken in stride with herhead held high. She doesn’t do attachments. She doesn’t do regret.
Notyet. When Andromeda leaves, one of the few people she actually let in andtrusted, there is absolutely regret in the mix of anger and guilt and hostility. She is far too removed to have anything other than her few people get to her.
