Act candidate Stephen Berry likened all other parties policies to bribery, aimed at getting student votes.

Mr Berry, who attended after the withdrawal of his leader Jamie Whyte, said education was a commodity, “like a can of baked beans”.

Interest free student loans were unaffordable and led to questionable study choices, Mr Berry said.

“Gender studies looks like a far more attractive option when you can get an interest free loan.”

Question: did Act leader Jamie Whyte withdraw from the debate because it would be rather too blatantly hypocritical for a man who writes about the nature of truth and belief, and has a PhD in philosophy, to diss non-commercial areas of study as ‘questionable’, and moreover suggest that making people pay more for education is a good thing because it acts as a disincentive to study such esoteric subjects?

MY OPINION ISN’T (A) RIGHT

your opinion is not a fact. your opinion cannot win an argument.

everyone can say what they want but it doesn’t make it more or less right than the next person.

if what you say may be false then you can’t entitle anything  properly to settle a dispute.

we are entitled to say whatever we want but it doesn’t mean it is all true.

entitled: given a legal right or a just claim to receive or do something

opinion: a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

no one has to care about what you have to say about something.

our opinions are formed based on our foreknowledge/experience and point of view we have on life.

It's the idea that "Natural" is "Good" that's so silly. Cars are very good in my opinion, whereas syphilis is not.
