The fuu2 quest from yokai watch blasters drives me insane so much like.
HE DIED? AND HE STAYED A YOKAI??
And he’s so chill about it (post quest, at first he’s freaking out) and immediately decides he wants to work at blasters hq until they find a way to turn him back.
Idk if I mentioned this in my first post but I always interpreted Nate as someone who pushes himself to do more and more to impress others or convince himself that he’s more than average; so being made into a Yokai that is basically his biggest insecurity must hurt like hell so that plus his need to prove himself to others might have impacted his decision imo. Like he JUST died and he decides to work, it could just be to distract himself but let the boy rest.
AND WHISPER??? WE CANT TALK ABOUT FUU2 WITHOUT MENTIONING WHISPER.
Whisper was so sweet to him throughout the whole thing, offering to train him and even comforting him as he cried, so I feel like he and jibanyan might be his biggest supports through that. But also, he’s absolutely not ok. He literally has trauma when it comes to failing his master and them dying, AND THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. Only difference is that he was able to keep helping Nate but idk if he would still want to keep the butler title.
Like OUGH the need to be helpful but the fear of failing is so strong in those two but maybe I’m just a big sap for the hurt/comfort and found family tropes.
